The superb WWI book Liaison 1914 gets the review treatment over at the blog..

I had never heard of this book ([&:]), but I really like the look of it. The new edition is out of stock on amazon.co.uk, however according the their catalogue listing, my local library apparently has the original edition in "the basement" [:D] They don't normally allow archived books to be loaned out, but it just happens my wife is a librarian and works in there.

You wont be disappointed..up there with War the Infantry Knew, Four Years on the Western Front (love this book as it's written by a normal soldier rather than an Officer), War Letters to a Wife and Master of Belhaven...all of which are cracking books written by a soldier who fought in the War.

French man in Khaki is another good read about a Liaison Officer during that period but this time a French man working for the British.

If you are interested in the later stages of The Great War, I recommend My Experiences in the World War by Pershing. "Black Jack" was a stubborn and opinionated man, and that fact comes through clearly in his memoirs. I found it a fascinating look at the American Expeditionary Forces and the end of the war.
