Commander Napoleon at War: Transportation

Post by joesbills »

I have been playing Commander: Napoleon at War. The manual states that I can purchase Transports. However "Transports" is not listed as a unit to purchase. As a result I can not load units and cross a waterway. I can never invade England. Any reason why this is happening in the game? Should I re install the game. Is there a patch that corrects this?

I'm sorry that this is no help, but Commander:Napoleon is one of the worst games in Matrix stable (imo) so hope you got it real cheap. I gave up on it years ago.

i actually like Commander Napoleon at War - perhaps it is just my weird attraction to broken games, but i quite like it even though it is extremely abstracted napoleonic warfare - the mod that there is for it ups the difficulty factor of the game too somewhat.

As for transports - you wont find these on the unit production screen, rather its a little button on the main UI - see the attach image where i circled it

Ya know, I haven't played that game in a long time, don't recall it being all that bad, seems I rather enjoyed it. [:)]

Yes, the negative post is very much IMO. So don't want to unduly put anyone off to the game. Did reinstall it a few times and found it quite simple and unsatisfying.

Commander at War Europe Gold and Commander WWI are quite good (again, imo).

Never did get CEAW, however did read from many who liked it, but also understood that it could have been polished up a bit. CTGW is by far is my favorite of the Commander series. Would like to see someday Commander the American Civil War...

CNAW is certainly not a complex game but i like that - most grand scale napoleonic games are complicated affairs, so if you just want some quick games. it is a big messy with its install and reinstalling though i must admit - every time i have uninstalled and reinstalled for whatever reason, CNAW folders get left around in user folders and some other strange places on my computer, which then interfere with later reinstallations.
