Also,
In no way am I claiming that this was historically possible, etc.
I beat the game. It's a game, not a simulation.
Just wanted to see if it is possible, with the deck stacked.
It is.

Given that you had Max Help Japan, obviously it wasn't historical. That being said, not a bad bit of work.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Thanks!
It was basically a matter of taking the Hawaiian islands, PNG, Java, then India with the massed fleets. And always massing all the fleets.
Sort of a clockwise attack pattern.
When that was done, there was a long fight around Fiji. The rest was just cleanup by LCUs.
Got a lot of base points by constantly moving engineers and SBFs around, maxing airbase/port, then moving on to the next spot.
A large portion of the kill points were Indian units. Used the fleets to constantly attack from Andaman then invaded.
Got a lot of kill points vs USN around Hawaii. The AI kept trying to land and it was stacked with fighters and some bombers, and lots of subs.

Anyway, thanks for your support.

I see the axis fanboys are alive and well.

To add to your argument: Japan might have achieved its medium term goals if the US carriers would have sunk at Pearl Harbor, and nobody expected the decisive US victory at Midway. Their problem was that the Allies knew the Japanese plans but assuming they did not the US would probably need at least 5 more years of war to get to Japan and then millions of troops to die in Japan to finally defeat it if Hirohito wouldn't surrender after the atomic blasts. (The latter shouldn't even be considered a valid argument, it is basically an alternative universe because Hirohito did surrender in ours because of the atomic blasts.)

The "fast" defeat of Japan therefore comes from two unexpected things: 1) the Allies knew what they were doing before the war started; 2) the US had the A-bomb.
Without nr.1 the war would have lasted longer (mind that towards the end of the war the Germans gave jet technology, atomic technology, tank technology, etc. to Japan, but Japan, like Germany, couldn't mass produce those things), without nr.2 Japan might have ended with a negotiated peace, unfavorable but not a total defeat but you could argue that Hirohito keeping his head is sort of a negotiated peace for them, with the US getting 99,99% of what it wanted.
Japan could never hope to win or draw against the US without defeating China first, just like Germany might have won or draw against the Soviet Union if they defeated the UK first. They reached for something they couldn't grab, did not work on unified strategies against the Allies, and fell hard.

As you can see, I lost only the one major ship.

Setting was Max Help Japan. Captured all bases except Colombo, Perth, Jackson is. and the west coast.

Used Trincomole as a bomber and CVE base to destroy arriving UK ships, (gamey milking)
Captured all 4 Hawaii islands and used them as A6m2 and Betty airbases, and for Carrier / Surface taskforce reactions.

Set up 2 sub units from the start off Seattle, and then a corridor leading to Jackson Is. milking the AI task forces. They have to pass through 12-15 sub units !

My last VP milking was BB bombardment runs against Anchorage, Juneau all year, and Seattle weekly during Dec and Jan.

AI sends Unescorted single Essex carriers between San Francisco and Jackson, which allows the Subs to sink them!

I make this point as the win will never work against a human as they would not do most of the stupid task force move as the AI does. I sank the early carriers off Canton Island with Betty's and the KB Carriers, between march 1942 and may 1943. NONE had more than 2 carriers per task force!

So, yes it can be done, but only using non-historic and gamey actions.

I now plan to save this game twice, and continue as Japan until the end date.
Second save will be used only after 4 weeks further play as Japan on save 1. Then i will use save 2 to see how much the Allies can recover :)
