I sent an email to him, but I would also say publicly, the site will miss ya, but you have to look out for your current needs.
I have been in the depression suffers's shoes myself, I know it won't be easy for him, but the biggest single weapon in the fight, is good supportive friends.

I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

Gman you will be missed by us all.
:(:(You will always have a spot here with us.

Mike, I know this is a difficult time for you, and that stepping down from your duties here has been a difficult choice for you to make, however, I believe it is the right choice for you. Never forget, you come first. Before your job, before your duties, before anything, you have to take care of yourself first and foremost. That being said, know also that the entire Matrix community, the SP:WAW forums especially, stands behind you, ready, willing and able to help you in any ways we can. You have my email addy, and those of others here in the forum, use them, even if it's just to say "Hi". And, as far as I'm concerned, you will always have the title of "Moderator Emeritus" here.
What, me worry?
Life's priorities, you must take care of yourself first, over other considerations, when it comes to health.
We all know you are a major contributor to the people here, and touch a lot of lives in a positive way.
Suggest R&R and know we all understand and miss you greatly.
Sure not goodbye, but "See ya' later"...

Sorry to hear that you are going through such a difficult time in your life. Your presence will surely be missed here. You've done a helluva job.
Take your time and take care of yourself for a while. I wish you the best and hope to see you back here soon.

The decision is yours and always will be.
I have always found it soo easy to do nothing. Believe that its not your fault, though no one is to blame. It just is.
Making this decision and carrying through with it shows that you are already half-way to recovery. Take your time, my friend, and when you are ready, you will do what you know you must. The rewards are there and waiting for you though it is sometimes hard to see them at first.
You are and will continue to be missed.

We have never corresponded, but you have always been a great source of information and humor as we all have dealt with this aspect of our mutual lives. CLANK CLANK I'm a Tank!
As one who has met depression and am very familiar with the problems of just being motivated to get up and engage with life, let me extend my sympathy and understanding. There are times - sometime LONG times when life just doesn't seem worth continuing.
A couple of years ago I was faced with the decision to just use the 9mm ticket and get off the train or maybe check out a mental health professional. The coin flip came down for the professional. It was perhaps the most wise thing I've ever done. I was very fortunate to connect with a truely wise woman who has helped me begin to come to terms some of the chaos in my life and to reach a point where I'm working toward a future.
The point of the autobiography bit it to let you know you are not alone and to urge you to connect with either a professional or someone you can really trust. There good people out there who can be quite helpful. I was surprised. If you are feeling the way you describe something ain't right and you need to hunt it down and beat it!
Wishing you the best and hoping to see you pop back up on the Forum again when you can - there are a lot more people out here pulling for you than you may realize. Good Luck!

Does this mean I can trade in this Giants helmet for a Baltimore Ravens helmet now?
Welcome back g! Just take it a day at a time, and if you need a break, take it. If you want to talk you have "brothers" just a phone call away.
What, me worry?

Hey Mike
Gald to see you've reconsidered. Perhaps just cruising the forum without any duties might do the trick for you.
I know that in the last two years for me (fighting joblessness and the attendant depression), browsing this forum has been extremely helpful in getting me through the day (mostly due to the sick sense of humor most of you have :p )
At any rate, thanks for all the help and helpful suggestions that you and the other moderators have provided. I've enjoyed 'your' forum greatly.
Good luck, and get Well soon,
Michael
