Bugs in the tutorial scenario

Post by MikeJ19 »

Good day all,

Having got the game for Christmas, I tried the tutorial scenario this morning for the first time - it looks great. I had a couple of issues though:

1. Somehow, I moved my Sqn HQ from around Stetten to Halfway between Nordheim and Willmars with a click of the mouse - not sure what key strokes I did, it just suddenly moved during my orders stage - I think it was the second orders phase. The SHQ not out some enemy forces before being killed.

2. Often when I plotted OM artillery support, it would show up as a way point and not an artillery mission.

3. I was unable to bring in my air support - the same thing happened.

I have attached a screen shot showing what the map looks like after I plotted some OM arty fire.

Have a good day,

Mike

I have tried to add a saved game file - but I keep getting an error message. Any ideas?

Having won the tutorial, I think I will try it again....

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

To post a file it has to be a zip file I believe. You can PM me the file as well and I think there are less restrictions on types sent.

1). Is it possible it was part of a group movement order? HQs will also move if they come under fire or if many orders have been generated and they decide to scoot. Those are usually a hex or two.

2). And 3). Probably not a bug. The actual arty and air strike markers are waypoint TRPs. The blue cross on the map is a pre planned reference marker that missions can be callled in on with minimal delay.

As soon as I can get up enough strength from my Christmas flu from hell, I'll check the game files.

Good morning,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

The move of the HQ was instantaneous from around Stettem to about 12 hexes away in the woods west of Willmar during my orders phase... I have played the tutorial a number of times now - trying out different things - and not had any issues with sudden movement.

Understood for the arty stuff - I have figured that out now. I think I understand it now.

I hope you feel better soon. I'm going to try a new scenario... not sure which one....

All the best,

Mike

Mike,

Start by playing NATO In a Time to Dance. It's small, tough and fun. I'm told that #1 is in fact an odd bug that Charles has seen once to twice, but we have not been able to pin down a cause. If you happen to see it again or know what series of events/orders you did before it happend, please let us know.

Thanks and enjoy!
