Update on attempts to get Antwerp and Marseilles to be 'major ports' once they are liberated by the Allies. I've tried several combinations of things using the 1944 scenario and Cherbourg as a test [because Cherbourg is easy to liberate]. So far nothing has worked as it still seems to want to trace a supply line to a greater supply source. For example, I set Cherbourg to transfer to USA control, but it never advanced above 5 supply. I set it back to French control and when Paris was liberated Cherbourg then went above 5. This makes sense and I think that Bill suspected as much. However, setting Antwerp to be Primary Supply, when Brussels is liberated then Antwerp goes above 5, so this is acceptable as it is difficult to believe that the Allies would capture and operate Antwerp without also having Brussels. For Marseilles, I think for the next test I will set it to be Primary Supply and have France transfer to Free France and move the capitol to Paris when Paris is liberated, but I think this still means that Marseilles will stay at 5 until it can trace a line to liberated Paris. I could make Marseilles the capital of liberated Free France. Maybe.
Looking at my last end of game file, the USA has 30,000+ unspent MPP's. I've made some adjustments to Purchase and Research. However, looking at the Convoy chart it seems that the US is sending no MPP's to the UK. Is there a setting for this somewhere ? Or is it possible because the game ended that it set this display to zero ?
DE 201 - France: Reincorporate Vichy France within Free France?
When this happens the existing Vichy units don't withdraw, they stay in play. I don't know if this is because of something I did in all the Free France changes for 653H or not. I looked for a link to DE 201 in the Annexation, Surrender and Territory scripts but didn't find anything. So I am wondering by what are the Vichy units supposed to withdraw, and if some one can point me to it so that I can fix it.
Actually, they should withdraw, and DE 201 says that they will. I'm pretty sure that they have in the past [but not positive] and that is why I suspected that it was a result of something that I did, but I can't see where they are set to withdraw by DE 201, which is why I asked.
