Excess camouflage?

Post by mickxe5 »

I assumed the Ambush/Camouflage action would work like digging-in - only allowed to an eligible BG for the first battle on a map. Im able to use it on every turn when deploying for battle with a BG that I was originally able to dig-in.

As I recall, camouflage is available for any unit set on AMBUSH at the start of the battle, as long as the parent BG was present on the map at the start of the strategic turn. So yes, it's different than digging in.

That's cool although the manual doesnt make a clear distinction between BGs only being able to Dig-In on the first battle it is eligible to and being able to use Camouflage in every battle it is eligible. Just wish my camouflage AT guns wouldnt blow their cover when set to Defend by taking potshots at infantry with AP rounds.

Hidden AT guns are more likely to fire on infantry if the enemy infantry is within a certain range (I think it's 100m? Somewhere around there), if the enemy is getting closer, or the AT gun team is stressed (assuming it's not under fire, probably from seeing more enemies than friendlies.) Keeping a command team within range will help them hold their fire, as will keeping other friendlies around. The experience of the AT gun team is also a factor.
