Changing ASW (and other) max values?

Post by Hotschi »

Learned that DD's have a max value of 3 for ASW, no matter if you have researched it to 5. Submarines can go up to 5.

Is it possible to change this in the editor?

Destroyers research can all be set to level 5 for Naval Warfare,Anti-Air & Anti-Sub using the editor.

The research, yes - but you can't upgrade your own destroyers to 4 or 5, no matter which value you have already researched, Kirk.

I asked a similar question already earlier, and (I think) Bill said it is "capped at 3" for DD's, but he also said this might be changed. I just wondered whether I myself can do such a change via the editor.

The reason for all this is the rather "upside-down" Atlantic Battle in this game; the longer the war lasts (and thus the higher ASW is researched by each side) the more difficult it gets for the defender (i.e. the destroyers) against the U-Boats; once they reach level 4 or 5, and you're stuck with your level 3 destroyers, sinking U-Boats becomes near impossible, as they almost always manage to dive away.

This is THE "issue" I have with this game - it's definitely not a game-breaker, but it bugs me nonetheless [:D]

In the standard game Destroyer max upgrades are Naval Warfare level 2,Anti-Air level 2 & Anti-Sub level 3.

I'm positive during playtesting my mod during the later stages of the war all my Destroyers were upgraded to level 5 across the board for Naval Warfare,Anti-Air & Anti - Sub.

You've showed me exactly the info I need and I didn't see it - it's the "Max Level"-Box!

A big THANK YOU, Kirk! [:D]
