Question: Supply

I don't understand how supply is allocated. On the screen print there is more than enough between supply production and free reserves to fully supply all units, yet some are being shorted.

I would venture that some of the units, those affected, are out of supply range. You can see the supply range by using the supply overlay. If you select a HQ within it, it will show what the ranges are around it.

No, that's shown on the "after range penalty" line, in this case it's one small unit that's a little beyond the normal supply range.

Perhaps not enough trains to run the already produced supply to field HQ?
I always keep my field HQ on hexes with rail road.

Also don't forget to have trucks in your field HQ, and as an aside I leave 1-2 trucks in my Supreme HQ also - just in case.

There are trains and trucks in all HQs.

That's why I don't understand what's going on. It's as if the numbers on the Supply screen aren't what the game sees when it's doing the supply distribution.

Supply is auto moved without transport needed the trains and trucks and cargo ships are needed to move sft's.

Twotribes. Are you 100% sure you do not trains/trucks/rail for Supplies? That would be awesome to know if that is correct.

Also, if you can bear with my questions, do you need train/trucks/rail if you manually transfer supplies to other units? Or is that type of Supply also exempt from needing trains/trucks/rail?

Yes, transfer of supplies that is automatic requires no CAP.

ALL manual transfers require CAP (or to be within the units AP movement distance)

Be careful moving supply if you have a HUGE number of supply in a Headquarters and try to move it all or to much the game crashes, this should not be a problem in a normal game as you should never get the supply level to cause the problem but I mod supply in my random games.
