3 days of May 42: (now is the 7th)
...we ran a FULL SPEED fleet to Tassa because there was a small fleet which sank some PBs of ours (there are quite alot of PB sunk meanwhile, but I read here that they are not fuel efficient anyway. But they are useful enough to guard ports etc. maybe not so much as escort because they only have low exp and bad DCs - only the weak type 95). Out fleet cought the enemy but broke the battle off - I saw one of the DDs ran out of fuel this was probably the reason they did not press the attack more. Still good result older CA sunk for zero own losses:

... in China and India not much... we close to the CH plains and a concentric movement towards Calcutta, cleared 2 more CH corps on the way to Kienko (entrance to plains)
.... seems the Allied has figured out we are too strong and evacuated troops from Calcutta to Howrah, one of our TK regiments was quite trashed there at Howrah. But strong force now crossing the river to Calcutta...
... we clear some more Dutch islands and move stonger fleet assets south to assist there (from Singapore, Soerabaya...there is no enemy fleet presence, except now ca. a dozen subs came in - we only managed to damage 2 or so by air so far).
... an RO sub torpedoes an xAP in the south and is hit in turn once..
... Allied bomber offensive restarted after some quiet days now of course hitting Tassa, we can not stop them, only 4 enemy losses reported, only 1 4e [:(] But no planes destroyed on ground but ca. 30% damage to fields [:(]
...Allies have stronger fleets now at Lunga, seems even 2-3 CVs, recon says now up to 120 fighters there, must be overstacked - the Lunga field is still 3. Allies will soon have that build up tho... US,NZ troops march to Tassa....
... a bombardement fleet with some DDs and 2 CLs bombards Townsville but was sighted before and all planes were moved away just that turn, only minor damage caused. But also no hits on our fleet...
...Jakes bomb and hit xAPs in the south, but only with 60kg
...in the afternoon enemy fighters seem to be low enough and catch the Jakes and also Kates that sortied to hit this fleet, no hit but we lose over a dozen planes shot down by US fighters...(no escort everyone is on CAP there vs. bomber raids). Jake and Kate units now totally depleted and send to the hinterland...
... Allies send lots of fragmented raids to Tassa and Tulagi, but this time it seems to be sweeps and LR CAP as well old divebombers. One DB raid is caught without escort, we shoot down 4-5, the fighter combats are quite even out - not much Zero losses but Nicks take a beating. Only 2 Oscars from our LR CAP showed up and 1 is shot down form them... the weather was thunderstorm so I guess this was the reason of the many small sorties by the Allies (and/or overstacked airfield at Lunga?) and our LR planes having trouble to participate.
Anyway I need to figure out what to do down there, must take off a day to think about it - we also have now 3 bigger warships back from repairs there. I evacuated some troops from Tassa which seemed not to heal anyway (these retreated from Lunga), but the rest there is quite a big number still. Would suck to lose them all, these are only few real combat troops so if the US arrives in strength there....[:(][:@]

RE: WITP: FE (fools edition) PBM Scen2 stock Japan AAR starts in May42
We reached the 16th May 42 my PBM partner is very reliable even if we both could only make 1 turn in 2 days. I also had some conversation about the game, as he said he had bad luck with another torp hit on one of his CVs. I told him I was surprised to see the Allies going on the offense already in April 42. Also that I honestly think the forward defense of Burma (at Pegu, Rangoon, Akyab...) might turn out not in the Allies favor. But he told me in the south I can not to much anymore, as he has (now had) a massive fleet there, I needed to re-inforce India and therefore draw troops away from the south. In fact I do not need to as I have troops from the Phillipines now there at Rabaul and PM (and now also at Tassa)..
Also he thinks that Rangoon is a "Stachel in meinem Fleisch". Perhaps translated as "a sting in my flesh". Yes, I still besiege Rangoon and the Allies there hold, but I brought over meanwhile more tropps also 2 of the scen2 divisions and the tank brigade. As well some arty from China and Korea bought out...but I still could take the offense in India, so I doubt the the sting in flesh analogy he uses is true from my view. It will be shown in the next 2-3 turns when the first DA will take place (his troops should have supply problems there too).
Otherwise these days were much carnage in the sotuh seas around Guadalcanal, guess the waters there can be called ironbottom sounds also in this game... here is a video about some ships that sunk there in reality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJytlYgg-Dw
I will first report the CBI theater shortly and tomorrow the southern one:
- We took in China: Kienko, Tujun and yesterday even Changsa (most Chinese troops could retreat only a few surrendered)
- We still lay siege to Rangoon and bring in more troops, we took Lashio and Kalemjo in Burma
- We shortly lost Howrah shortly in India a tank reg was destroyed of ours, but we took Calcutta and yesterday also Diamond harbour and retook Howrah...
Not much going on there in the air or sea so far, but we lost a sub minelayer at Bombay which wanted to lay some mines there....[:(] We also patrol now with 3-4 subs these areas in the distance but so far found no prey at all....[8|]

RE: WITP: FE (fools edition) PBM Scen2 stock Japan AAR starts in May42
The below pic in this post belongs to above battle!

...we hit a damaged DD and a minelayer ("Bungaree") near Ndeni with 1 sub torp each
...and sank/damage some smaller ships near Portland roads which I have no idea what their intention was with Nells from PM and Jeans from a CVE fleet that was moving from Singers to the southern theater..(perhaps they wanted to supply or safe the stranded troops from Terapo??).
..we also tried to hit Lunga again with the double aim to bombard and meet the ships from above battle. I figured they were damaged enough and/or out of ammo. At Lunga they should not be able to re-load heavy weapons (damaged port3). But they combined with some other ships as well the 3rd British R-class BB. And were quite formidable (not short enough of ammo to make an impact): 2 BBs , 1 CA and DD or ours sunk. 1 US BB of theirs confirmed sunk, another British one suspected sunk.

BTW: We also REEINFORCED TASSA, I decided there are too many units to let them be destroyed and as we seem to get sea supority again we brought in a veteran division from the Phillipines campaign (exp 84). They should be able to defend the place together with the left overs from Lunga and the others that were already there (but only aux untis and nav guards so nothing that could provide a capture by stronger US forces, but this division should do the trick). Most of the naval forces engaged in above battles were actually there before to protect the landings and troop convoi at Tassa. Which worked, as soon the convoi left I could use them overwise.
The Allied 4e bombers did not fly in the area for a while, so we reached also fort level 3 at Tassa.

...we hit a damaged DD and a minelayer ("Bungaree") near Ndeni with 1 sub torp each
...and sank/damage some smaller ships near Portland roads which I have no idea what their intention was with Nells from PM and Jeans from a CVE fleet that was moving from Singers to the southern theater..(perhaps they wanted to supply or safe the stranded troops from Terapo??).
..we also tried to hit Lunga again with the double aim to bombard and meet the ships from above battle.

Some massive surface battles. Recreating Ironbottom Sound there, eh? =)
I'm not sure if the mixed SCTF practice is a good one. A lot of players here seem to think BB/CA/CL seem to work better when in separate TFs.

Some massive surface battles. Recreating Ironbottom Sound there, eh? =)
I'm not sure if the mixed SCTF practice is a good one. A lot of players here seem to think BB/CA/CL seem to work better when in separate TFs.
Some of these TFs were too large it seems. Severall collisions on both sides, we have a DD and CL more damaged to the collision than to enemy action. But combat report said also Allied ships collided - but not known for which degree of damage. The Allied playerlikes to concentrate his stuff this is clear, we were also able to recon both Ndeni and Luganville, both together have over ca. 400-500 planes, as well up to 200-250 ships.
Re. my post 20, crippled sub - this one made it back to harbour, I will repair all damage than can be repaired.
Re another also crippled DD I tried to send back first to Munda (which worked) but then the damage increased while en route to Rabaul. This DD is now stuck at Shortland with ca. 80 float damage - most major.
After the bombardements of Lunga I thought the enemy fighters are now weakened and send 2 Zero units to sweep, but again no good result, our losses are 2x as high as the Allies. Seems Zero M2 is just too slow as a sweep plane.
Both sides laid mines in the Lunga area, we also laid a new field at Tassa and 3 enemy subs are reported hit there. We lost a sub at Lunga again (I know it is stupid to send them to harbour hexes, but I tried to catch one of the damaged British BBs - 1 or 2 plus a CA are reported at harbour of Lunga. Port 3 should not be able to repair them. Pity we have no air superiority there, otherwise we could try to bomb them). We also laid a field in an ocean hex - the entry one from the south to Lunga - but it faded without hit.
We had landed some forces at Cooktown as it was empty and took this town, but no air support to send there... The Allies now started to bomb the place with Hudsons, the Aussies also took back Normanton, which a small airborne unit (landed by an AK which sank running aground at a reef there btw) took 2 weeks ago. I could not follow up these landings with air or more units this was more or less distraction...
British DDs in the south hit 2 more subs of ours both need to go back, we hit a sub of theirs in exchange near Tassa.
Only smaller fleet units now left in the CBI area, but they bombard Rangoon every 2-3 days or so:

We were able to get finally enough supplies to re-inforce our 2E bombers there and all of them now hit Rangoon (switching to ground from airfield attack more and more). There are some stranded Allies near Akyab left that retreated in the jungle when we took the town. But they should not get supply. The same for others at Lashio. Only Rangoon and Mytkina (sp?)is now left in Allied hands there.

Allied subs now often try to hit our cargo/TK fleets (guess the better radar makes a difference)... luckily the torps mostly miss or are duds. Will report any significant hit. Our subs miss a big AP near the Indian west coast. But hit later on an even bigger target:

North, nothing happening there, 2 subs are patrolling there but only contact was with a small patrol boat. No interest to land in the Aleutians, instead building up Kuriles, Hokaido...
CBI, our advance was stopped, in fact we made a mistake in China to not wait and concentrate more power before entering the CH plains. Chinese have thrown out a big army of ours 1 hex west of Chungking. Troops were weakened by a river crossing before. Many Chinese than moved in and after 2 attacks routed our guys. 3 smaller units destroyed, 3-4 divs trashed (80-90% disabled!). We had send more from the north which took Chengtu before, than Neikiang but those are now besieged in turn by the Chinese and bottled up. In the far north a division took Lanchow and moves on the the town above. Chinese re-took Changteh and are besieging Sian (so far we hold there). We moved troops from Changsah to Changteh and besiege the town. For sure it would have been better to secure these areas better and have more troops and better coordination before entering the CH plains. Looks like Armeegroup south in Russia split up to much, given to many objectives with the result reacing none of them and being beaten back instead... Portions of the Chinese were supplied and their bigger corps are able to beat Japanese as shown.
In India our advance has stopped perhaps we take a defensive posture near Calcutta. Allies are hitting troops per air with many bombers and good escort of P40 and Hurries. Turns out Hurry IIc is quite effective. We rolled up the eastern bases like Inmphal etc tho. Now marching to Ledo. In Burma some Allied refugees (from Rangoon battle) were routed to the jungle. Small counterattack from these at Lashio was beaten back...we still fly Oscar 1c there so air cover a bit dubious.

CBI, the Chinese have taken Sian with great damage tot he garrison there, they also lay siege to Neikiang and Chengtu (central plains), an air raid of IJA was cought without escort and 7-8 bombers lost mostly 1E. However we swept Chungking 3 x (Oscar) and get more escort (still Nates) most Chinese fighters shot down. Transported some troops before from China to India, Burma and a division as reserve to Manila. Needed to buy out more and they are now on the way to China from Kwantung and Korea armies. Troops slowly recovering that were routed near Chungking (guess will take 1-2 weeks until some more squads are healed while the guns repair faster)...we now also get some supply issues so loaded some at the HI.
In India Allies have started air offensives and bombed our troops with everything they have - and lots of escorts. Trained and rested Oscars have now reached the area and will try to interfere, as well 1 Zero unit. Half of the troops from captured Rangoon recovered meanwhile and are now transported north - some will also fill out Burma...
Australia, our weaker troops are on retr.... ahem, strategic relocation to the north. Aussies have at least 1 armor regiment and 1 motor brigade there. General of sector phoned Rommel and asked for advise re. desert warfare. Rommel said, use 2 pz. divisons to outflank enemy and set up PAK traps with 88mm guns. However the Japanese have only 1 light tank regiment and no guns above 47mm there [:(] RAAF still bombs the now almost deserted Cooktown and 3 enemy units show up (we evacuated most before)
South: Allies sent another bombardement fleet which I think was quite brave, after he should have realized we concentrated a lot of the IJN there. And 2 of our fleets are on guard at TASSA in which the enemy stumbled:

Also 1 AKL and 1 ACM sunk and 1 more DD damaged (saved to Rabaul)... Could be worse, but the good DD losses hurt, especially the one I saved with the huge float damage only to have it sink 4 hexes from Rabaul. [:(] We shot down 4-5 4Es with Zeros.

...we hit the heavily damaged British (from surface actions before see reports above) Revenge class twice with a torp each per sub. One of them should be sunk (or even both), which means the pendulum in this battle in which we also lost 2 BBs is now in our favour (3:2 BBs or even 4:2)...
... we send a smaller CA fleet to bombard LUNGA again with weak results
... Allies sweep TASSA with P40,400,39.. weaker numbers cause many of them were destroyed on the ground by ships before , and we get a 3:1 in our favour (only Oscars lost and Zeros damaged)...
... Allies also hit TULAGI port but find only 1 ACM to sink, this is bad tho we lost the Munda and Tulagi ACMs to enemy bombers so no mine tending anymore.
...Allies also hit TASSA again with lots of bombers and P38 escorts and now the battles last longer. Hopefully the radars (even if it is bad) we now have contributed that the enemy could be intercepted earlier and so were not able to blast through our CAP so fast as before. He suffered 4-5 P38 and ca. 10 2E bombers, we lost only 2 fighters or so (but not the P38 but to B17 gunners). Seems we caused also 2-3 op losses to B17s.
Allies now tried 2 DAs at TASSA but both fail one with 3:1 the second with 5:1 in our favour. The division there should hold quite a while [:)]

And 2 of our fleets are on guard at TASSA in which the enemy stumbled:

...We lose 1 DD and another damaged one was torpedoed by sub...
....we lose 2 more DDs one of them was hit mine weeks before, but float damage still 70, it sunk on transit from Munda to Rabaul (no more repairs possible there), the other later by port strike on Munda by 4Es. Also 1 AKL and 1 ACM sunk and 1 more DD damaged (saved to Rabaul)... Could be worse, but the good DD losses hurt, especially the one I saved with the huge float damage only to have it sink 4 hexes from Rabaul. [:(] We shot down 4-5 4Es with Zeros.
...we hopefully sank this Dutch sub per our sub:
Sub vs Sub: SS I-9 attacking SS O21 at 116,141 - near Kirakira
Japanese Ships
SS I-9
Allied Ships
SS O21, Torpedo hits 1, heavy damage
...we hit the heavily damaged British (from surface actions before see reports above) Revenge class twice with a torp each per sub.

Our re-inforcements start to arrive (as written above we had shipped out troops from China to serve in other places, but that was a big mistake many many Chinese still alive)... and are slowly getting in position esp. to block the hordes of Chinese 1 hex south of Sian (we left 1 eng as rearguard to delay them which was annihalated) as well at Changteh. We tried a DA there but it failed, Chinese then fed even more troops in there. We also brought in as many planes that could be serviced in fact many more than we have AV. Also updated a Lily to Sallies, which hit the all Chinese troop concentrations esp. the most dangerous one at Neikiang. We also rebase a Betty unit from Rangoon to China which hits Chungking airbases. Even some torpedo planes are bombing troops now....
We are still holding at Neikiang and now opened a supply path up with a tank regiment which also should cut of the Chinese from Chungking (the tk regiment and 2 division are trashed, these can serve as arty brigades now as they have only a handful squads - AV - left):

In India, we build forts at the main cities like Howrah and Calcutta. We have now changed Oscar 1c units, one to Tojo and one to Nick and hope they will provide better protection against the British raids (however just when we had them in place no enemy plane flew, so lets see next day what happens). Hurries and P40 also swept Calcutta, in fact at 30000 (my partner told me he forget about the sweep rule), we lose up to 10 Oscars and even 7 pilots. The others lose 4 to A2A and 4 more to Ops. We took Ledo against a basefoce with overkill of the Im.Guard div.

Slowly more and more the difference PBM - AI is showing: My plans in China are thrown back at least 2 months and severall division were hard hit, some at Neikiang have under 10 (!!!) AV left (more guns of course). In India also the Allies seem to plan to cut off and/or bottle up our troops in the eastern part as well around Calcutta (luckily we have shipped supplies and fuel there so we can not be starved). I also had to turn back an army from further offensives to counter the Allied "bottling" process. What I thought was only a small spearhead turned out to incl. 2 complete Indian division. At least our fighter arm in India did good work.
CBI,
in China Allies have these bases left:
Ichang - We did not care to take it as it has no industry, and also I reconsidered to cross the river from the east. We will avoid river crossings now, as near Chungking the troops were so weakened that they could be thown back with 20000 losses. Rather take more time and find another route/plan. Ichang shows 89000 CHtroops 240+ guns, 3 more units seem to move there.
Sian & Chengteh, both were re-taken but the troops of the good side (aka IJA) are besieging Changteh (not enough to take it) and are on the way to re-liberate Sian too (bought out troops). Changteh has over 230000/510 CH troops...
Chungking: Is now besieged by an army that cannot take it but at least bottle it up
plus
... some towns in the far north as well in the mountains between Burma and China, we have sent troops now to take these places also (from Burma).
Neikiang, Chengtu, Kienko are all besieged by the Chinese but all seem to hold (even if the Neikiang ones took terrible losses, we hope the Chinese will crumble to lack of supply and disruption asap)
Our reeinforcements have arrived among them 1 good division as well all the partf of 1. + 2. tank divisions (these needed to be bought out anyway). We send a fast spearhead to Sian, while the huge Chinese horde is running south the main road. We have now some blocking forces in place but weaker ones. Lets hope they hold...
India
As described the Allies give us no rest and try flanking, bottling manouvres. Offensive actions dir north are called off to defeat these moves.
Therefore we shoot down a lot of P40 and some Hurries and bombers, ca. 30-35 P40 shot down for only 5-6 own losses, we have a good Tojo unit there now the production of it started early June. Mostly over Calcutta...but masses of bombers hit our ground troops in the countryside, need some more fighters for LR CAP it seems...
...more later + combat reports

RE: WITP: FE (fools edition) PBM Scen2 stock Japan AAR starts in May42
So almost end of June and July already starts with giving the Allies more stuff, and they already hurt us quite a lot without wonder planes and trillions of super squads/tanks they get later. Socan only get worse - good to know. I noted so many nice maps etc. in this forum, like the planning with strike directions etc. I can not disclose too much here as I said this is an open thread my opponent may read on the forum
Also noted that in some games the Allies already can push in 43 near IJ oilfields. That was scary to read, so I guess I need to start building some defenses at Celebes, Timor and this general area. This game quite overhelms me tbh
But here a map with numbers as follows:

1: We finally come from the west to China mountains and took Paoshan. I was quite lazy, complecement (sp?) because I could have started this already 2 weeks ago, I might have less trouble in area 3 now. Because their is a small road with leads to the area 3 from 1 and I noted the enemies at Neikiang do not get a supply MINUS in every combat, conclusion they get some chunks every other day over this route [8|][>:]
2: Small counter by 3 weak CH units - we have only a baseforce there but with 3 forts, seems to hold
3; Neikiang, still ca. 182000/350 enemies (despite they attack every 2nd day and are hit by every bomber in range, Chengtu, 2 smaller CH units, ours 1 brigade, will hold. Kienko, 57000/260, ours 1 HQ, 1 Div and 1 art on the way, should hold, Chungkink 148000/250, we can not take the city but bottle/blockade it. The number 3 is right over the road I meant which still can supply the Chinese...
Terribe attrition for our divisions (now only regiments or battalion) at Neikiang:
Ground combat at Neikiang (75,44)
Allied Shock attack
Attacking force 75372 troops, 299 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 1369

Allied ground losses:
2429 casualties reported
Squads: 33 destroyed, 195 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 20 disabled
Engineers: 1 destroyed, 14 disabled
4 Changteh: 224000/520, we can not take the city but bottle/blockade it
5 Ichang 87000/240 + 3 unknown units near it, we stopped the river crossing due to bad experiences in the past.
6 Sian, Nanyang, on the road: 157000/455 in Sian: 9000/5 (only support units I guess.) We held the horde on the road and from the east you can see the reeinforcements I wrote about above...
We held with good terrain:
Ground combat at 84,43 (near Nanyang)
Allied Deliberate attack
Attacking force 71875 troops, 451 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 2146

It seems lack of supply is not a deciding factor for the Chinese at least... [8|]

Defending force 34221 troops, 452 guns, 252 vehicles, Assault Value = 212

Allied ground losses:
2429 casualties reported
Squads: 33 destroyed, 195 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 20 disabled
Engineers: 1 destroyed, 14 disabled
4 Changteh: 224000/520, we can not take the city but bottle/blockade it
5 Ichang 87000/240 + 3 unknown units near it, we stopped the river crossing due to bad experiences in the past.
6 Sian, Nanyang, on the road: 157000/455 in Sian: 9000/5 (only support units I guess.) We held the horde on the road and from the east you can see the reeinforcements I wrote about above...
We held with good terrain:
Ground combat at 84,43 (near Nanyang)
Allied Deliberate attack
Attacking force 71875 troops, 451 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 2146
Defending force 18877 troops, 139 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 580

Allied airforces seem to rest or weather bad, they send now only small ships in the area probably appalled by allthe bigger ship losses before. Our subs sink 2 yard patrols. We also hit Lunga again this time with 2 BBs - one of them Yamato, it was slightly damaged and only 30-40 main gun ammo left from earlier battle. These 2 BBs go back to Rabaul, Yamato should not be able to re-arm at Shortland anyway. We destry a dozen fighters or so. In the far south we send out some DD raiders that found nothing in the open ocean between Fiji and Aussie coast. Also we had send some smaller carriers they did not find much, but only 3 turns ago, they bombed a comvoi but with only AKs and it seems no troops on board. Sunk list only shows 1 big xAK and an AM as sunk, but 6 x 250kg which hit other xAKs should have sunk more, I hope ? Cause I guess the risk and fuel wasnot worth the raid results so far...

Brits threw some small units in our way (our 2 divs and 1 art was marching west towards Rangpur) and we needed to stop to throw them back. Not sure if it is a tactic he uses, or errors. I thought in 42 the Indian/Brit pools are not that good. But seems the Allies in this game have enough stuff in 42 already... Near the central Indian plains (above) Calcutta there was air and ground action. I am not sure what these Indian divisions were doing. First it seemed they wanted to divide our area by threatening Jessore. We send a division there, so it is possible they scratched this plan but then we were able to concentrate stuff and after the 2nd attack threw them back:

Also several bigger aircombat generally we come ahead (we had upgraded a O1c to Tojos and they did good) also Zeros arrvied to help the O1c´s. 2 MGs are not enough even against Blenheims they have sometimes trouble. One battle was lost by our airforces as some escort and/or LRCAP was not flying and the weak escort overhelmed we lost over 10 bombers A2A and some more to ops. India:

But generally we kill more of them as they of us:

xAK Clan Forbes
xAK Silverteak, Bomb hits 3, heavy fires
Allied ground losses:
Guns lost 8 (3 destroyed, 5 disabled)
Vehicles lost 25 (16 destroyed, 9 disabled)
We also found a TF with a small British CV, a BB and a CA, a torp hit was reported on the CV.. and some bomb hits on the BB. Probably only light damaged. We lost over 25 bombers however to CAP from the RN CV these were American F4 planes (no escort send)....

North = Aleutians, Hokaido, Kuriles... areas:
Quiet - our asw ships are useless, our subs find nothing, only our planes report subs and sometimes now also attack them. But the Allied subs also did not harm our freighters
Other sub & small ship action:
We again miss near the Western Indian coast an xAK.... but hit a small RN cruiser (c-class) near Australia some day ago. It is reported as sunk (only 1 torp hit, but those ships are quite small)

RE: WITP: FE (fools edition) PBM Scen2 stock Japan AAR starts in May42
South contd....

We decided to land at Lunga, we had several units prepped from 60-100%, among them a good division, pretty risky cause the Americans have masses of ships and planes at Ndeni and Kirakira. We went ahead anyway, the troops were not used at Rabaul and PM, so...we lost in the landings 4 huge xAPs. We had one BB in the 2 invasion fleets and bombarded Lunga also before...damage was port 100%, fields 40-60%. It was a mistake to put X ships in the inv fleets, the AMCs, LSDs, AKs, APDs....did well and unloaded quickly and only 1 APD was heavily hit by 155mm guns from Marine def bats:
Here how the later attack went:
Ground combat at Lunga (114,138)
Japanese Deliberate attack
Attacking force 12624 troops, 166 guns, 140 vehicles, Assault Value = 633

Remember that the Allies still have several units besieging Tassa.... we tried to attack them, but they are to strong still, they now march back to Lunga. The place is totally destroyed, we were to bring supplies and engineers. But I doubt we can build a good base, any moment the US must react and bomb the shit out of Lunga. This must be done by the Allies, they can not allow us to entrench there just we like we did at Tassa, right. Ndeni has over 500 planes and 150 ships or so says recon LOL
