I am watching this! [8D]
Understanding as I do the excitement playing this game evokes, to mention nothing of the potential to help along one's innate desire to add to the corpus of science fiction tales ([:D])... well, ya know. [8D]
As for me- as soon as I complete my War in the East campaign, I will be back to DW:U. Unless DW2 comes out first. [8|]
Hey! Glad to see your interested! Unfortunately this game didn't work out the way I'd hoped. I'm going to start a new one soon and I'll put it in a new thread.
But for the sake of closure I'll outline the events going forward from that defeat of the pirates.
Not long after that battle took place, the Aryans came into contact with a number of other alien races. One of them being the Hiigarans whom were warp capable. Another one of note were the Paratis, not yet warp capable. This caused the Aryans to focus on and quickly complete warp precursors.
The Paratis followed the Aryans in advancing to warp capability, and colonized their homeworld in Paratakis. With their new found economic strength compared to their human neighbors, they decided to attack the Hiigarans. The Hiigarans, using mostly rail gun weaponry were unable to compete with the hammerhead missiles of the Paratis ships, often being destroyed before ever getting into range. This prompted a request to the Aryans for a defense pact which was accepted and the Aryans officially joined the war against the Paratis.
The Aryans initially faced several defeats as their ships were armed with torpedoes which like the Hiigarans didn't allow Aryan ships to get into firing range. On top of this, the Eden Space Port was destroyed. These defeats prompted the new leader of the Authority to order development of their own missile weapons and defenses, converting from shield based defenses to heavy armor and constructing several missile batteries surrounding Eden. (Each of 4 batteries, as well as the new space port were all armed with 50 Type 2 Missile Launchers, basically mimicing Paratis defenses which massacred an Aryan attack squadron attempting to make a pass on their space port.)
These new defenses were immediately put to the test, as a large enemy fleet jumped into Adarluun system on an attack vector against Eden. Countless missiles were fired and the entire fleet was destroyed with a single station being disabled, even better results than the earlier mentioned Aryan defeat. This victory gave hope to both the Hiigarans and the Aryans that they could finally bring the war to a close after more than 40 years at war with limited success up to this point.
A large invasion force was prepared, and a massive fleet consisting of 120 Aryan vessels, joined by a large Hiigaran fleet (like 30 or 40 ships) and their own invasion forces jumped on top of the Paratis capital nearly at the same time and in that moment literally thousands of missiles were fired (including from the majority of the Paratis fleet which was in orbit at the time) in every direction. You couldn't even tell who fired what from where, except for Hiigaran rail guns which blazed amidst the missiles like the sun glaring through a cloud. Though the casualties were tremendous, and the ground invasion taking another 10 years to complete the Hiigaran/Aryan alliance succeeded and defeated the Paratis, and eventually capturing their homeworld in Paratakis as well.
The Aryans we're treated to a 98 quality Continental planet that hadn't been colonized by the Paratis in their starting system, leading the Aryan's to their first true galactic empire of 4 planets.
Not much of note happened for a very long time after this, several other races came in contact with the Aryans from all over the galaxy and they became aware of the massive star empires in the core and inner arms of the galaxy. In fact, these empires and an alliance web that the Hiigarans, Humans, and Terrans all joined lead to the breakdown of the Hiigaran/Aryan alliance as the Aryan leader did not want to get dragged into a massive conflict with vastly superior forces that he was trying desperately to avoid having his people find out about. More on this breakdown in a minute.
A few years after this breakdown, as well as a break in trade with the Humans the Aryan's declared war on and defeated the Cylon's with a now rail gun focused fleet and opting to subjugate them as the initial invasion of their planet failed. Also just a note, the Aryan's did not abandoned missile warfare at this point. They had simply moved away from it for logistics reasons, keeping it for station defense and instead opting for missile bombers for their long range combat needs. It was also around this time that the Aryan's retired their fleet of Falcons (2nd generation Escorts), never again constructing a ship of that particular size and instead opting for the larger Avenger and Eradicator class Destroyers, as well as the Judgement class Light Cruisers. The Aryan command fleet consisted entirely of Light Cruisers.
Back to the Hiigarans, the broken relationship between them and the Aryan's only worsened after the alliance fell through. A contested star system with many valuable metals fell within Hiigaran territory, despite it being right in the middle of a major space lane between two Aryan's planets. The Aryan's and Hiigaran's both owned stations in that system and eventually it lead to war. The war was not all that interesting, Aryan ships were generally superior to Hiigaran ships. The Aryans eventually took their homeworld, though the Hiigarans managed to conquer the Paratis's 'true' homeworld. (oh! I forgot to mention that the Aryan's completely wiped out the Paratis species). The war was then ended by the Shaktur attack and the Ancient Guardians single handledly wiped the Shaktur out which ruined the game the end

I think the in game year was like.. 2262 or something like that.
