Pet Peeve from a newbie

Post by Curval »

Okay..I'm new. This is not a slag of the game, but my pet peeve with the interface is that I cannot move the window that appears when I select a Task Force etc. I just want to be able to move it out of the way a bit so I can contemplate the map with that window still open.

Is there a way to move it?

No, but dont worry. You'll have the map memorized soon enough. :)

The mouse cursor can still be used to scroll around the map while the window is open. This can be done by moving the cursor to the map edge, which triggers a map scroll in that direction.

I use it to check TF movement routes (esp the ending hex for my subs when setting up blockades). You don't see the whole map but there is enough showing to be helpful. Thats about the best you'll get.

It would be nice if the window was semi-transparent.

Drongo..you are wise in the ways of science. :)

I'd still like to be able to move the window though.

Gotta agree with you. It is kinda annoying at times not being able to move the window out of the way. But UV is still one of the best Grigsby-interface type games thats been done.

Compare UV to 12 o'Clock High and you'll know what I'm talkin' about. :)

Play any game long enough and the interface becomes irrelevant..... even 12 O'Clock High (at least for me) :D
