A Toast to Matrix Games

Post by Losqualo »

OK, I had a bottle of wine (or 2 1/2, as my girlfriend would say :) ),

but nontheless:

A Toast to Matrix Games

I really don't know what I would do without playing SPWAW and waiting for CL, EYSA and CA, but surely it wouldn't be something intelligent  .

If they now would take over the development of Harpoon IV and do a rehaul of GNBNA i don't think I would ever need another game developer!

I'll raise a beer to that toast :)

Matrix Games gave me Steel Panthers World at War, a full game, a free game, a game that has been re improved over and over. And they even added Mega Campaigns to it.

People can say what they want about game X from company X that was patched and or supported until it was gotten correct. In most cases, those games cost a lot of money, and you had to play that needs patching and correcting game for 6 months after you had paid good money for it.

Matrix Games though, gave me Steel Panthers World at War, plus 3 great Mega Campaigns to add to it, and I never had to pay a danged dime for Steel Panthers the core game.

Now they are busy at work producing more titles than I can state without making a lenthy sentence :)
I am waiting on more than a couple of titles, and often wondering "ok I will get this one then that one, or wait no that one then that one over there".
A real flurry of effort.

Plus Matrix Games responds to the hopes wishes and demands of the consumer.

They certainly give a good idea of how to make the gamer happy.

Well in all honesty, I will let them at least finish making the games before putting them up on a pedastal.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

Here's my toast to Gary Grigsby, Matrix Games, and the old now defunct SSI for such memorable games as Steel Panthers (WAW), War in Russia and Pacific War.

Salute!

I´ll also raise a beer to that toast !!

I can´t belive that Matrix Games is giving us SPWAW for free !!!!

I played a couple of PC games before but since I found SPWAW I have not played anything else. I gave a friend a tip about SPWAW and he called me just the day after and said it was a great game.

And another great thing is that you can use this forum and get tips from the people developing the game and other devoted gamers !!!

Plus as Les says, Matrix Games is listening to the customers.

Losqualo, you don't have to wait at all to be a sturm trooper.
All you do is this:

Select User CP at the top of the page.
Select Edit Profile.
Scroll down to Custom User Text.
Type in whatever you want to appear by your avatar.
I think you then check the reset box beside that.
Then hit submit modifications.

That's all there is to it.

Thanks Jim, but I'm either blind or my hangover is too strong. I just can't find that Custom User Text box

I thought it would appear after a certain number of posts.

When you click on edit profile, scroll down towards the bottom and you will see it. I was wrong about the reset button. If you check that, it will reset your text according to the names Matrix has set up to correspond with the post count.

Drink about 6 cups of coffee and try again. LOL

Welcome to the insanity if no one has already extended it to you.

Well, I even looked under my desk ;) , but I can't find it. There are fields for the e-mail adress, ICQ numbers, message handlers, my signature and the biography. That's all. :(

Ok I think I see what the problem may be. Are you clicking on the profile button at the bottom of one of your own posts? If so, that's not the correct one. Look up at the very top of the forum page by the Matrix Games Logo.

There is a series of 8 buttons up there, the left most being "USER CP" Click on that one and then go down to edit profile.

I am attaching a screenshot (I hope) of what the page looks like.

:)

Thanks for the screenshot. At least I know now where that field should be. But it isn't on my edit profile screen.

Perhaps one has to reach a certain status before that option becomes available.

Thanks again for your efforts!

Speaking about Matrix Games, Winston Churchill is believed to have said: "never have so few given so much, to so many." Thanks Team Matrix for having done such an outstanding job and bringing us together with this great forum! Semper Fi!

Losqualo , I can´t see the field either so I agree to that you have to reach a certain status before you can see it

I got it!

Post by Losqualo »

Thanks for the help, but:

This morning I could change it!

I had 86 posts at that time. Maybe you have to have more than 85 posts.
