Well it seems Bernie can see me! and I cant see him!:(
He is in attack mode while I hunker down, yet he has better LOS:confused: My Arty is mostly out of contact. I have an entire platoon of M7s that has not moved at all and still no contact!

This turn more Panthers are spotted and when I tried to counter them I was shut down. :(

More and More smoke is rained on the battlefield as B man sets up a massive attack...I can feel it....

I am scared...Goblin...hold me!:D

I'll get the turn back to you as soon as I can, but I've not been at home for several days, and it will be a couple more days until I finish the job I'm on. (A friend is selling her house but it needs some work to bring it to FHA specs. Since I live a good distance away it's easier if I just stay here while I do the work. Fortunately, she has a cable modem. Unfortunately, I can't remember my e-mail passwords so I can't access my e-mail accounts from here.)

Okay, I'm back and I'm pi$$ed!

I just spent a week (7 days @ 14-16 hours each) working for a "friend" of mine, getting her house ready to be sold, busting my butt at per-hour rates from the 1960's, putting off two other jobs because she was a "friend in need", and this morning we had a major fight over the job and I took my tools and walked out. Got $50.00 for all the work I did (my normal rate is $20.00hr.) and spent almost $500 on materials!

I'll have a turn for you soon Jess, but be warned...I'm looking for blood!

Bernie did not post his report...because he has nothing good to report. To surmise he lost a Panther Ut-Oh to a very nicely placed 90mm snap shot...More of his Ut-Oh's are spotted and taken under fire.

My Turn

In the north I killed 2 JgPz's with 3" guns (and who ever said 3" is not enough? )
Another Ut-Oh is fired upon by 2 EZ8s and close assaulted by Mech Infantry, did not kill it but she is not going anywhere. During the Close Assault another Ut-Oh is spotted and arty in the form of 8" (I like to call my 8"ers "Johnny") is called in.

Bernie, did you mom ever tell you not to smoke! mY GOD MAN...enough...you are only helping me! LOL!:D  ;) :p

You call this "MAD" or "P-O'd"?

But I still love ya!

German Turns 6 & 7

Post by Bernie »

Turn 6:

One of my advance Special Operations units has ambushed an American supply convoy, capturing two truck loads of American movies. I should really post my AAR, but Mae West and Betty Grable are waiting for me in the mess tent...

Say this for the Americans, they make good movies! I've completely forgotten what it was I was supposed to report from the last encounter. I know I lost a Panther G and two Jagdpanzers, but I believe it also cost the Americans two Easy 8's

Turn 7:

The artillery units that would not respond to orders last turn have now been "re-motivated" by my new FO, whose uncle seems to be a Major in the Gestapo...

My "Owl" units are now roaming the battlefield freely, the covering blanket of smoke hinders them not at all, yet prevents the American units from firing on them. Two Easy 8's and two Jacksons fall under their guns and are destroyed, while a third Jackson is seriously damaged. American 8" artillery continues to fall, but my counter batteries are starting to have an effect.

4 VH's that I took on the previous turn have been retaken by the Americans, but a barrage of 81mm mortars will soften them up and allow me to retake them soon.

My aide has reported back that the surrender papers for the Americans are now completed and ready for the Americans to sign. I have added a section to the terms that all Americans who surrender will be allowed to view the films we have captured when they get to the POW camps.

2 Ut-Ohs and 1 EZ8 die.

I really think Bernie is scared..but any Kat Driver would be!:p

I spot many more Tiggers this turn!:( and I feel the main thrust is upon me! so be it!

infiltrators have no place in this battle. No blaim to Bernie, but unless stated as a special operations battle I will not play a battle in the future with infiltrators.

I'll disagree. I feel spec ops troops have their place in almost any battle. However, I will grant you that we should have discussed this beforehand. After the number of times we "old-timers" have advised newbies on how important it is to lay out complete groundrules, for both players, in any PBEM game it was foolish of us not to follow our own advice. For my part, I assumed (yes, I know...I know!) that you'd be making use of the Rangers in your OOB, so I added some spec ops troops to my forces.

Scared? :D

The only thing worrying me about this battle is that my Kitty Krews won't get the 4 American tanks I promised each crew. You seem to be running low, and my Kats are really hungry! :)

As for the Tigers... I will neither confirm nor deny the use of Tigers in this engagement, but perhaps this picture of my top tank commanders at our last staff meeting can help clarify the matter...

German Turn 8

Post by Bernie »

The American has managed to finish off one of my disabled Panthers in the north woods, and then a second one that came to the aid of the first. However, a third Panther drilled the Easy 8 and scattered it's crew.

This turn though, things were much different. No less than four of the American "Jackson's" have fallen to our guns, as well as another Easy 8. We have also taken a heavy toll on the airborne troops that are starting to move through the outskirts of town. Several groups of them are in full retreat, and my artillery will make sure they stay that way.

I believe it is time to make my advance. Enough of this sniping...let the Kats roll!

I look forward to seeing your Katz...at least they fight like men!

Infantry firefights in the town. Many SS units run home to mommy Bernie.

Not much ground for either side.

At the end of the turn another Ut-Oh dies as a 105mm SPA shell goes through the commanders hatch..if you look close...you might see the commanders toe sticking out of his own ear!

to you my lil'pussy-kat;)

PS...after this battle will you still rub my feet?

German Turn 9

The American 8" artillery is taking a terrible toll on my SS troops in the town. Several platoons simply no longer exist. However, the American armor is proving vastly ineffective. Another Jackson has fallen to my Kats, and two Easy 8's will be next. The American airborne forces in the town are also suffering, many of them in full retreat and others destroyed. Most of the enemy recon teams also are now destroyed. I feel the American must now either surrender or call for reinforcements. Either way, he will lose!

German Turn 10

Post by Bernie »

Another of the American Easy 8's is blasted to junk! Or should I say, smaller pieces of junk, since they were junk to start with?

The American commander is crying in his beer over the fact that he cannot see my tanks, but my Uhu's can see him just fine. Yet, when I was laying down the covering smoke for them, he rejoiced, claiming I was helping him. Who can understand these Americans?

I think he is running out of units to send forward. Only two Airborne squads are firing now, and I see several .30 caliber machine gun crews, which are easy to dispose of. The next turn will probably be his last!

German Turn 11

More Jacksons are destroyed this turn, and American airborne units flee in terror! The American commander is pulling his hair out because he cannot see my Panthers, yet they keep hitting him again and again. Of course, my other units are getting restless now, anxious to have their turn at the weak Americans in their toy tanks. Soon, very soon!
