AG Antonescu

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Recent patch removed it due to it not being historical.

QUOTE http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=217600

'Army Group Antonescu' existed in reality on paper. The Romanian 4th Army was under Romanian control, the Romanian 3rd Army supported the German 11th Army and they worked in close cooperation with each other (It may as gone so far the the Romanian 3rd Army was nomially under the German 11th Army Control).

Hitler wanted Antonescu to look ( at least in front of his people) in control of the liberation of Basarabia.
The siege of Oddesa was however Antonescu idea and the end of 4th army offensive strenght.

I have a campaign game that is in turn 17. Both opponent and I upgraded to 1.09 around turn 8. AG Antonescu is still on board in Russia with two armies, one corps, and the Romanian Combat Air Command. Perhaps because update was made after turn 7?

Side note, the name of Romania is Romania, not Rumania.

Rum vs Rom - the first name is historical and preferred by game authors. Don't know if it's fully accurate for the period, but we stick with it.

I do not understand thread on AGA disappearing on turn 7 as has not in my game by turn 17 (my other two active games I am Soviet so have no insight there).

Continued use of wrong spelling noted. Just a minor point, given half of my family is Romanian (Zogorean, etc), at least the Europeans spell it correctly. My last name is Thomson (the 3rd or 4th most common last name in Scotland) but Americans insist on spelling it Thompson.

AG Antonescu will only withdraw in games started with version 1.08.09 or later, in games started with 1.08.08 or older it will stay.

That;s a theory. My game in question was started with 1.08.1 hotfix and was updated to 1.09 around turn 12. AGA is still on board in T17; just as well as I do not know what will happen to all the units under its command if it did disappear. Perhaps it will be different in the new game (but then I am Soviet so I will have to ask the opponent.
