Rail Conversion Routes

Post by Philippeatbay »

This is something I never like to leave to chance, so I always make a point of spending the PP's needed to select the route. But I've just loaded 1.04 and decided to try something a little different for a change.

What if I don't select a rail conversion route, and try to save a few points by annoying Gercke?

How do I find out what the path of future conversions is going to be if I selected 'too busy to worry about such things' as my decision?

Does selecting the no decision option mean I have to role-play ignoring rail conversions until I'm given another choice? I'm not sure there's any way to figure out what the path is likely to be other than reviewing decisions. Surely it's not that hard to have my chief of staff pick up the phone and ask Gercke's chief of staff what the conversion route is going to be before I start shifting my FSB?

Hi Philippe,

As mentioned elsewhere, Gercke was having to meet conflicting demands from a number of people, yourself being one of them.

By expending PP's you can direct him to do this or that and he'll do so but in the absence of instructions from yourself he'll make a decision that takes into account the other demands currently upon him.

If you choose to avoid a rail conversion decision it's intentional that you won't know at the time what Gercke will do, for the reasons above, but the rail conversion will continue regardless and you can see in the following turn's daily log which route Gercke has selected.

Also, from a game play perspective, if you knew what Gercke was intending to do prior to making the decision then it wouldn't be much of a decision.

Cheers,
Cameron

This confused me a little bit, at the beginning of the game. When you have the option to select Rail Conversion for AGN and also AGC, are you just choosing 1 rail conversion, total (I.E the one to Riga) or are you choosing 1 conversion for EACH theater?

Basically, is it starting 2 rail conversions, at the same time, for 2 different theaters or am I only picking 1, deciding between AGC OR AGN?

Hope that makes sense.

Hi nickaepie,

You're deciding the rail conversion route for EACH theatre. There's an individual decision for all three theatres with AGS being delayed due to the late start on that front.
