With the Italians getting the infantry division instead of the militia there is one German rail move left.

Any unit you want rail moved?

To attack Holland well, especially late in a turn with dodgy weather, the Germans need tanks well positioned on the Dutch border, or the Dutch can defend on the resource hex and use ZoCs to block the German advance. Unless the Luftwaffe+Panzers can flip the Dutch INF and overrun it, costing the Allies Rotterdam. So the Germans were deployed well for this, not always easy to tell in AAR screenshots.

The Allied Return-to-Base will be interesting - I believe they have an INF afloat right now? If so they could trigger a German desire for either an Initiative re-roll and/or a basic decision to move first. I have a friend who suggests that few things are as important as going first in Sep/Oct 1941 on the Russian front - the turn of destiny in many games. He will defer all Initiative decisions to that crucial die roll, although a double move on the Steppes in the summer of 1941 can also devastate the Russians. And of course there are other strategic prizes to go for in the game, aside from Baku.

Using the Kriegsmarine to simply defend the Baltic in 1939 and deferring an invasion of Denmark until the 1940 Entry chits are around, also looks like a good play to me, I will keep that idea for the future. However I would prefer to use the Luftwaffe in a more offensive role in the North Sea or the Med, where one lucky search roll can quickly change the CW TRS or CV force. And keep the Allies in a reactive posture.

If they do leave a TRS in Rotterdam, I would send in the Luftwaffe level bombers immediately. They won't have much else to do unless they assist in Sardinia, and the RAF will be weak over Holland, temporarily. (As over Sardinia as well).

Not playing WiF is so boring. I guess I'm in your thread again in this game too.

It is the CW player who will do the end of turn.

Germany will get three new, great, U-Boats added to the force pool next turn. May I suggest that you scrap the bad ones before building new U-boats?

Italy will appreciate any help they can get. Any resource or oil at all will help. Long range fighters will also be appreciated once they are available.

Yes I know. I was posting here first because I don't know what you want resource/build point wise. Just let me know.

I will take what you can spare. But three resources and two oil would be great.

Also, I am beginning to consider if we should relocate German naval air to the Mediterranean early. With the goal to cause Allied damage their convoy line there. And perhaps open up the trade route to Turkey that the war in Bulgaria closed. The Italian merchant shipping would need some protection if this is to be tried.

May I suggest that Germany build one ATR instead of the LND3? There is a risk that the one being built is one of the bombers planned for scrapping. And one never knows when the need for additional air lift may arise.

These are the planned Italian and Japanese end of turn orders. Thoughts?

----

Italy save oil in Milan.

Japan save two oil in Tokyo and one in Kyoto (producing for 14 resources).

Kaga and Tone stay at sea in the South China Sea.

Italian submarine return to La Spezia.

Japanese SCS return to Tokyo.

Italy reorganize the Celere MOT, submarine, and the cruiser San Giorgio for a cost of 0 oil.

Japan reorganize all units for a total cost of 1 oil.

Production:
Italy (2):
NAV2

Japan (10):
3 x MIL
PIL
Save 2 BP in Tokyo

Italy remove the BA.65 to the reserve pool.

Okay so in the EoT instructions I say to Keith that 3 resources and 2 oil are being lent to Italy?

Do I need to do anything with the Production summary & details screen at this stage?

That means next turn I have to move two oil from Production to save (to keep Germany at 2 oil).

When possible I suggest that GE will lend the "IT" Stuka, using IT airmoves is nice.
Else IT always needs 1 oil each turn 3 resources or more.
I also suggest Denmark should be the next target and that GE builds more air units. Skip the sub and build cheaper land (2 MIL instead of a 2 INF?) units then you could build one more plane.
Also sice the oil is important, mayby build a synt plant early 1940.

Something like that, yes. Just beware that Germany has only two oil of their own at this point so the need to save oil increase when those two are traded.

Edit: Italy wants to build up a small oil reserve of their own. So two oil is really appreciated.

Germany has no good air units in the force pool. They arrive next turn.

I never build SYNTH plants as the Axis until mid-41 or so. I think it is far better to build units while the Allies are weak, so a perimeter of maximim size can be seized from them.
