The two Peters (centuur & I) are looking to start this weekend. I think we said Missed Bus but it might have been GW.
Do we need to take the latest patch to do this testing?

Yes I think you want to be at 2.3.4 in order to get all the latest NetPlay fixes.

Yes, you do need that patch (and also the version before that one, since it contains an important data file). See you saturday...

I checked and the patch from the members club via the link in the "New Public Beta" thread includes the data files, it is a full exe install. Just as well since the thread for the previous one is gone.

Where do you want us to post our bugs for this Steve?

Started a Barbarossa scenario with standard rule set.

Cele - Germany, Pax - Rus.

On Rus first impulse we had a fatal bug in that the Russians options were all none for number of actions. We picked combined and is spun right through to the end of the impulse. Pax will post a pic etc.

I posted the pic in the NetPlay Bug Forum. celebrindal should have the same game.

If you report netplay bugs, the best way to do so is to have one of the players describe the bug (put in a picture if possible) and after that, have both players post a gamesave in the forums. This provides Steve with games out of both computers.
Saves (and autosaves) for netplay games are proceeded with NP in the name of the saves. Also, when one player makes a manual save on is computer, the same will happen on the computer of the other player with the same name, to make sure both computers have a exactly the same game to restore.

Before you post the games, make sure both gamesaves which you want to put in the forums have the same "next entry #" You can find this number in the right column on the fifth row.

Jagdtiger14 and I were unable to play because he never received the invite on the netplay server. I could see his name and he could see my name and even exchange messages but the invite would never go to him.
I instructed him to contact Slitherine to make sure his user name was valid to play MWIF.
Other than that I have no idea why it didn't work.

Two possibilities:

1 - The players' names have to be precise, including upper/lower case.
2 - Only one person starts the game. The other person just logs into the NetPlay forum and waits for a prompt.

There is a third possibility that I ran into with on another player. Slitherine had changed his user name during some "upgrade" they performed. They fixed it for him.

It has been taken down and replaced with 2.3.4. You don't need 2.3.0.

If so, then I'd humbly candidate myself for the netplay sessions, for Barbarossa Scenario.

Time zone: GMT+2 (Israel)

Steve though wrote, in opening post here, that you should have 02.03.00 installed before running the latest 2.3.4 ...

02.03.04.00 from the Members Club is a full install of MWIF. So there is no need to install any previous version of the game.

I would like to take part too, I am in Madrid, Spain. I don't know whether my free time table will be acceptable. Probably yes for those in Europe or along the Mediterranean, or somebody who is retired,

I am an experienced (but not necessarily very good) WIF player, have tried the game a couple of times but I am rusty regarding selecting units or convoys for example.

I just installed .04.00 I have only played Barbarossa in MWIF but I would play any.

Well unless i'm playing with a beta tester and or Steve I'm going to drop.. we couldn't even make it past 2 impulses with multiple crashes...

I'm pretty frustrated as well. I'll likely keep at it because I think this game has a lot of potential, but it seems like it's a long way away from being ready to be played via netplay.

I would be keen to play, but my time's would be less than predictable. I could probably do 1 hr on weekdays at about 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM -7GMT (mountain standard). And could also manage some 4 hr sessions on many sundays.
I consider my self an OK player, bot far from an expert.

cheers

Jose,

You could try to link up with Adarbrauner in Israel. Neither one of you is a beta tester though.

EDIT: grammar.
