Post by JMass »

I just had the same error a few minutes ago. First time and I've been playing since the first day that it came out? I was moving a Yugoslavian Partisan!

as with all errors, if you can reproduce it and then give a save with steps for the developer to look at and hopefully fix, it will get sorted and fixed sooner, thanks again

Thanks JMass and if you go to your User\Documents folder for the game the saved file should be found there. If you can send it to me that would be greatly appreciated (if you still have it).

Have same error: FAILED(on_left_button_down)
Steps to reproduce error:
Wait for intell to finnish [8D] it is not allways coming
Move Greece corps 1 from hex 190,104 to hex 188,104 Not sure if this step is needed
Move Greece Macedonian army from hex 188,105 to hex 189,104 (cannot move any further.
Move Greece Macedonian army from hex 189,104 to hex 190,104
Do not klik anywhere on the map this can cause the error not to show.
You cannot move the army the needed step to hex 190,104

Zip file is to big to upload.

Guys, I don't know if this will help but once I was familiar with movement allowances I could see that this error may be avoided by not moving land units further than they are allowed, resulting in a negative Action Point number [which shows up in the unit display, lower left side]. If I see that negative number show up, I move the unit no further and this seems to avoid the Failed Left Button Down and crash.
At sea it seems to be a little different, but there is something similar going on, maybe to do with spotting hidden units and their extra movement costs.

Is there a patch or hot fix available? I just lost a lovely 1941 campaign game to this bug!

It's not lost, there is an auto-save ! Load that file and don't repeat the same failed move [;)]

When I do that and make different, legal moves I still get the same error. Once I get that error, the game is toast.

Hubert, asking as an old SC player of many years standing, can we please get a hotfix?
