Thank you for the explanation Steve!!!

Just for curiosity: is this an addition of yours, or is it provided also in Phisical WIF Barbarossa as well?

It's an implication of the Scenario Instructions.

Steve: why then Petsamo cannot trace secondary supply path to any other southern Finnish city?

If this is because the end of the road is..a "road" and not a railway line, so then this is quite strange. No resuply through roads? So why do they exist at all in the map, only for historic purposes? Therefore, no Burma Road, no Via Balba in North Africa as examples of only possible supply routes?

You can get supply through roads.

So why that red encircled unit is unsupplied? Why Petsamo isn't tracing a valid supply path to another southern secondary supply source in finland?

That, I don't know, may be there is a reason or perhaps it's a bug.

One reason could be that some hexes along the rail/road were under enemy control, but that doesn't happen in the image and it probably isn't happening in the southern zone. because of this I believe it's a bug.

Hexes are all in Axis control, road is free.

If Steve gives confirmation, I send him the report;

You only get supply from cities (from your own country) and HQ. The HQ can trace supply on roads, but units can not.

Unless there is a HQ under that unit, you are out of supply.

True. I felt rather uneasy , like something was escaping my attention.

It was that.

Usually I don't need to worry about that because in the WIF map Petsamo is in a huge off-map hex adjacent to Helsinki, from where it gets the supply, But here there are no Finnish cities and in MWIF /WIF units cannot get supply from the road/railway directly,

My recent play of some other WWI board games (where they can take supply from rail without HQ) confused me too. [:(][&o]

Correct Dave, forgot the rule.
Still, resources cannot be moved thorough that road, probably that's the rule.

Not quite. You can not rail units along road. Transporting resources work. Note that in some circumstances the Burma Road might be closed for resource transportation.

You mean resources can be traced down that road.

From WIF RAW 7.0:
You transport a resource to a factory in the production step by railing it from its hex to a usable factory. It must move along railway lines (roads count as railways for this purpose).

Ooops. I was quoting WIF, but it's more exact Orm because it's from MWIF...

I meant resources should be transported, but in this case is not. The resource from that location -Petsamo - is not conveyed/transported.

Maybe I should create the resource transport, but every time I click on the Rail/Ship button on the roducton form, the program stall, stuck and eventually has to be terminated.

I don't know whether I'm doing the right action or not.

Resources management in MWIF is still a challenge for me so I couldn't tell.

But the reason it is, is because I didn't go into it seriously due to some bugs the program had. I am not sure all of them have been solved even now, so it could be. Maybe some forum members can enlighten us.

This is a bug unique to Barbarossa. I have fixed it and the correction will be available in the next release.

By the way, using the Petsamo resource in Barbarossa isn't important. If you aren't playing with the oil rules, then Germany can use oil resources and keep all its factories producing. If you are using the oil rules, you can still use the oil resources for production for the first couple of turns. And German production after turn 2 is mostly meaningless, since the units available to be built that come in before the game ends are very few.
