Some people are left handed. An AAR to me is performance art, otherwise it's barely worth doing. Analysis ho-hum. It's about presentation. We can get to the analysis later.

I'm sorry Geoff, but I seldom do "trash talk". And I never do it well. It just seems, well, unseemly. And definitely ungentlemanly. I generally ignore it , and if it does get to me I don't generally respond well. Sorry, I'm weird that way. I've even been known to politely applaud when the other folks win.

But I'm more that will to throw in the occasional comment if you'd like. But please don't take it personally if I don't bite too often to your "trash talk". Sorry. [:(] [:(][:)][:)]

OK, I've tested doing what I wanted to do and it just flat out isn't possible. I've come up with a new strategy which appears to hold much promise. I am committing myself to it and will begin giving final orders. I'll be busy tomorrow but hope to deliver to Steve my first turn by sometime on Thursday. Steve is still welcome to come into the thread and contribute if he wishes. That means that what I say may have some level of misdirection for him. Not to worry, in the fullness of time I will explain what I did, why and how; assuming I remember.

I look forward eagerly to your rendition of how you managed to sink KB on the first turn and how this is part of the greater oh-so-nefarious-devilishly-clever plan of plans.

Steve's got his own thread - doesn't it make more sense to keep this for your stuff as there is then no need for misdirection?

Just a thought.

This is how I've always done it and I look forward to looking at his AAR before I'm senile (wait, what time is it?) but I really would like it if he kibbitzed and talked trash some on my AAR. In fact, the more he contributes the more I'll like it. So, if everything works out according to plan he will spend more time doing AARs than me and I win.

We look forward to your effusive flattery of Sir Geoffry's ego and game play. Overdoing it can be trash too![:)]

You're not sorry. That was some especially good trash talk you just unloaded. Few could match you. I just think it would be wise of you to consider this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/spe ... 0136f69845

Aye. And don't forget the non-apology apologies that are trashtalk: "I'm sorry you got angry when I called you fat" or the non-compliment compliments, "For a fat lizard, you don't shed much." These are part of a regular trash talk breakfast.

When I was young, I had plenty of Beatles and Stones to listen to. I also had a lot of the following I had to listen to, whether I liked it or not. I liked it. I tend to respect it when the minor key is deployed. This will be my inaugural song. If you don't like it, that's ok. None of you are from Gorn.

Reporting in. Spent all day on this thing and once more discovered my plan would not work. I swear to you this is not "Pinky and the Brain". I have an outline of a new plan in my head. I think tomorrow I can get the bulk of it done. Transmission of first turn this weekend I hope.

Maybe the problem isn't the outline of the plan. Maybe the problem is the outline of your head. Consider that AE was designed for human brains. Yours is larger and, more importantly, shaped differently. Try making your plan less brilliant and more in line with puny human limitations. That will get the game started, then you can make adjustments which will dazzle your unfortunate, hapless, puny-brained opponent.

Call me old fashioned but I had a feeling the Thursday target would come and go with no action......

Message to the Gorn. Please, just do what I do in wargames. Get your boaty things at sea and order them to head roughly in the direction of the enemy - ideally with some aircraft as you can use them to bomb stuff. And finally move your troops and if they make contact, you can shoot the enemy or whatever.

I think you are over complicating things.
