Japan and Germany took a land action and Italy a combined. The Italian cruiser Gorizia joins Taranto in the Western Med.

In Poland, a German infantry division occupies Gdynia. The Polish navy, consisting of destroyers and a cp, took refuge there after the fall of Danzig last impulse. As the Germans now control Frederikshaven they cannot escape the Baltic Sea and are destroyed.

Von Rundstedt decides to press on with an attack on Lodz despite the rain. He provides HQ support and the Luftwaffe supplies Bf109E2 and Bf110C as ground support. German engineers help XLIX Mountain corps across the Vistula.

The Poles in Lodz resist bravely. A roll of 6 is just about enough to take the city and its factories but leaves many German units disorganised. The shattered Polish infantry corps cannot escape and is destroyed, but cheers ring out from the Warsaw garrison.

End of impulse. Turn continues on a 9.

The German reserves are still in the game, listed as "setting up" in the units in game panel. Any ideas how I can make them appear?

The Allied High Command daily thanks the bad weather raging across the battlefield in Europe, as it continues to slow down the German War Machine. British move a small fleet to the Eastern Med, based around 1 carrier and a few cruisers and BB's. The turn continues. Even more bad weather though.

It sounds to me like you have run into a bug. Any time the unit list says something like "Setting up" or "Moving", and the unit is not being set up or moving that instant, something has gone wrong.

My only suggestion is for you to post your game to this AAR thread, state where you want your reserves placed, and have one of the beta testers (me, for example) put your units where you want them.

If you still have a save from just before your first opportunity to call out the reserves, it would be nice if you ran it, see if the bug occurs again, and if it does, post the save to the Tech Support forum.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

A very generous offer, thanks Courtenay. [:)]

I will do this at the start of my next impulse. If possible, later I'll post a save game on Tech Support as you suggest.

AXIS #11 SEPT/OCT 1939

Stormy weather causes the Germans to take a combined, as does Italy. Japan takes a land action.

RN cruisers find two German subs in the Faroes.

The Allies attack only the 3 box where the stronger sub is damaged and aborted.

Elsewhere, the Germans rail a garrison from Danzig to Frederikshaven and close in on Warsaw, but there are no attacks.

Having enough of their Imperial Overlords, the good people of Malaya rise up against the CW with the formation of a partisan.

I tried. I downloaded your saved game, but when I tried to open it with my copy of MWiF, it crashed my game.

Can you open it using your copy?

I can open it, have it open now.

I could send an earlier save?

Destroyed units Sept/Oct 1939.

Lit only by flashes of lightning, the Fuehrer stands on the balcony at the Berghof, in full oilskins like a North Sea trawlerman.

He is grinding his teeth.

OK.

I am going to ask other beta testers about your game file, because either there is something wrong with it, or something wrong with my copy of the program.

If you can put a gamesave in here at the start of a German land movement phase, I can put those units on the map for you. I was able to restore this gamesave, but I'm not totally convinced that using the debug tools in the final production planning phase is going to do the trick correctly.

I was able to restore your gamesave.

I'm very grateful for this offer Centuur, thanks! I did wonder about whether different phases might make a difference. We're currently slogging our way through end of turn and production phases but I will do this as soon as possible. [:)]
