AI Infantry Problem

Hello:
This is something I see the AI do quite a bit. A few turns ago the radio stack left the Wood building and moved into open ground. It had two MGs, one a HMG. Now my 2 SS squads with a LMG decimate it in the open ground hex.
I could not see any advantage to it moving from the building to the open ground. IMO this is one of the biggest problems with the AI. (In a Vierville scenario a while ago a German unit did not advance into an empty stone building but stayed in the open ground hex - with Ami paratroopers around that was not a good thing.)
