Thoughts from a Beta Tester

Post by Reknoy »

Started the process recently.

VERY EXCITED!!

I figured I would start this thread to share some of the goodies that I encounter along the road.

Feel free to chime in that I should shut my gob. If a majority speaks I will refrain. :)

Day One

The game starts up with AWESOME intro music. The tune is a surprise, but they did a good job of making it sound more "epic".

Really like the leader counters.

Excepting some initial user-error issues :) I will be well underway a campaign tonight!

It's hard to sit at my desk without wanting to sprint home and fire it up!! :)

Cool! That's what I was hoping for.

I'll do my best to regale everyone with the exploits of Napoleon et al!

[To get a flavor for each player in as expeditious a way possible, I am choosing to play all seven powers - so that means more battles!!!]

I guess you won't be able to tell the quality of the AI then, because you are playing all seven major powers? Or the quality of the PBEM games? Or the quality of the real time network games? Can anyone clue us "would really love doing what you are doing right now" people in on how the game testing works? Are they having different people play different types of games? Is it that organized, or is it merely a "you play then tell us what you think" atmosphere? Dying to know. Thanks a lot! The game cannot come out soon enough.

Gang:

Sorry for the delay in posting more. My lack of experience is showing and I am spending my time learning the art of the beta tester (plus the day job and two kids are taking their toll!).

Good news is on the horizon, however. I expect to be posting more soon.

On the interface, as that is in process I don't think I have a good handle on commenting on that.

Hope to get to the exciting stuff soon.

Cheers!
