Can't get updated UV to run

Since I have downloaded updates (2.0 thru 2.3) I can't get UV to run. I can get to game menu but can't get game to start. When I re-install I can get 1.0 to run, but not when updated. I have tried from my start menu and from inside the UV folder. Please help.

Clarification of my last post. UV runs fine up to and including 2.2 update. Once I install 2.3 I can't get game to run. It seems that my machine will not recognize it. If I re-apply patches 2.0-2.2 it will run as UV 2.2. I'm at a total loss.

Maybe try downloading the 2.3 patch again. It may have been corrupted.

Tried downloading 2.3 again. Same result; but thanks for the suggestion.

See the Master/Slave issue, try moving your CD to a different CD/DVD slot.

Seems to be a problem with one specific version of the copy protection. Using it in a drive configured to be a master vs a slave has solved it for everyone so far... This is not just a 2by3 problem, Microsoft has the same with Freelancer.
