An attack on Brussels is likely to land somewhere between 3:1 and 4:1 depending on ground strikes and air support.
warspite1

As things stand its a 2:1. I can almost certainly get 3:1 and even a shot at 4:1 iirc - but let's assume 3:1. I can get this using a combined (which covers the Baltic) and a land (which doesn't). I wasn't planning on HQ Support and I suspect that just about every aircraft will be required (inc 2 Stukas for the ground strike).

Therefore, regardless of success or failure, there is a good chance of a French counter south of Brussels.

If I delay, the British can use their ART again - and next time I may not be so 'lucky'.

Attack on Brussels is somewhere around 40 versus 14 with defensive art but without any air. But then the attack includes the engineer. Without the engineer it is somewhere around 37:14.
warspite1

I don't make it as high as that with the MOT disorganised.

And a ground strike on Antwerp may disrupt the artillery.
warspite1

Or may miss in which case I have the same problem - but even less aircraft.

I think you should attack and take a land impulse. So that if the attack fails you can reorganize the attacking force and try again. Combined makes this very expensive. And if we take Brussels then it is equally important that the entire attack force can be reorganized.

And with a land impulse you can maximize the attack force. Use the artillery as support across the river so that they are not halved.

Indeed. Although you might strike one of their land units there making it harder for them to reorganize their forces.

Right so we are agreed. Land impulse, attack on Brussels, no separate strike on Antwerp.

No. I think a strike on Antwerp is very much called for.

Land impulse and attack on Brussels, yes.

You, of course, has to do all the heavy job. I am Italian so I will just watch, applaud and cheer you on. Then after we have won I expect full credit and the bulk of the spoils. [;)]

Just kidding. [:D]

No I'm kidding, I am happy to do all the German throws. Do you want to hand back after the naval?

One Stuka against each of Brussels and Antwerp. And add the 3 strength He 111 against Brussels?

Then add the Italian bomber to a ground strike if you like.

The British will defend so we need another bomber.

2 x Stuka and Dornier vs Brussels
1 x Italian vs Antwerp

I think to much air against Brussels and to little against Antwerp. Perhaps you should save one Stuka for ground support instead?

The British may indeed defend. Better during the ground strike, I think, than during ground support. But I doubt that he will intercept both ground strikes.

Nailing that artillery is worth a lot. A Stuka gives 50% chance and then CW have something to ponder on. Should he intercept the Antwerp raid or not. With a lousy Italian I think he decides to not intercept. But then we are likely to miss.

With the way the dice are going we need +2. That said, if I throw a 1 (or my usual 2 [8|]) on the land combat then it would not matter if we had +2 - it would still not be enough. I don't know, but fact is, Antwerp is not a threat (apart from the ART which we cannot guarantee hitting) but the French are.

I think Antwerp adds a complication because of the shortage of aircraft - so:

One Stuka over Antwerp
One Stuka and the Italian over Brussels

Splendid. I will mail you the save soon so that you can fly the missions yourself. And perhaps make last min changes. [:D]

I notice that the Italian cruiser San Giorgio somehow ended up in Leghorn when it was ordered to La Spezia. I need to have a talk with the Captain.
