Minelayers

Post by goodboyladdie »

I have noticed 200 plus M Mk II mines sitting in my pool in March 1942 and would really like to drop them off for my opponent to play with. I cannot seem to see any ships that can lay them...

Does anybody have a definitive list of the platforms that can lay the different types of mines, please?

Sorry, no list. But I know that the "M Mk II mine" can be laid by most British submarines - but in March 1942 there aren't many of them...

And HMS Trusty.

I had a look in stock Scenario 1 - the Abdiel class MLs use the Mk XVII mine.

Dutch Subs K-XIV and up and O-boats use the M MkIID mine. That is the closest match to what you asked that I could find.
Dutch CMs use the VH MkII mine.

That would be the thing. I looked at the British T class subs in the Turn 1 "replacement ships" queue and it did not show any mine loadout for them. I just opened an ongoing game and looked at the subs on the map. Both Trusty and Truant use the M MkII mine. I assume the other T class subs are the same, barring removal of mine capability in upgrades.

A while back there was a thread that dealt with which US subs use the Mk 12 mines. If I recall correctly, some subs lose their mine carrying capability in one of the early upgrades. I've not been able to locate that thread again. Does anyone have a summary of which subs can carry the Mk 12 ? I may have upgraded all of the subs inadvertenly... [&:]
