I think I've found a pretty nasty naval movement bug.
Stay with me here - this is somewhat involved.
During the US movement phase, I'm moving a group of US units from the English port of Pembroke back to the US East Coast. Along the way it encounters Naval Interception by two Axis Subs located in the North Atlantic. Naval interception was successful, and one round of Naval combat ensued, which resulted in one CW cruiser being aborted, as were both Axis Subs. When the US group continued to move, I discovered it had regained ALL of its movement points. and had no trouble in moving to sea box 4. in the East Coast.
Here is the save game and the steps to reproduce. They are detailed and long.
- Move Cincinnati, Wichita, Milwaulkee, and Empty Transport from the port of Pembroke England, back to the US East Coast, via Bay of Biscay, North Atlantic, East Coast. Note that there will be Axis interception in the North Atlantic.
- In the North Atlatic, Have the Axis Intercept, there is only one Axis unit capable of initiating naval combat, select yes to have that unit initiate interception. Set Axis interception die roll 1.
- Fight Through - Yes. Select Section 1 - Sea Box. Set Allied Search Die Roll to 1. Both Searches Sucessfull.
- Units included is fixed for this round of Naval Combat. Click OK
- Allied player selects CW Danae to receive the Damage result. Set die roll 9. to reduce damage to abort.
- Select Italian Sub to receive damage result. Set die roll to 9. to reduce damage to Abort. Select German Sub to receive the Abort Result. set die roll to 5. Both Axis subs Abort.
- Return the CW Danae to Halifax, Return the Italian Sub to Lorient and the German Sub to Brest.
- Allied wants to keep moving, select the entire Stack.
- Notice that it's able to reach sea box 4 in the US East Coast. which is incorrect! ( should be only able to reach no higher than sea box 1.)
