You ruled out raiding the North Atlantic with one U-boat?

May I suggest that the Romanian bomber is placed on a city and then re4moved so that the pilots can be transferred to new, German, aircrafts?

My father is fine, or as fine as can be expected. He has been transferred to another hospital for recovery and rehabilitation. He is now considered out of the woods. (Did I use that expression right?)

Is it ok if I post the Japanese and Italian orders and you do the impulse instead?

Does Germany send a U-boat to the North Atlantic? I want to hit several unescorted sea areas to increase the odds of finding. Otherwise I send a Italian Submarine there but I would prefer to leave that convoy route to the wolfpacks.

First part of my orders.

No declarations of war.

Combined: Italy, Japan

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

The Osaka MIL is loaded to the TRS in port and then and transported to Haichow. Two CPs in Fukuoka sail to China Sea

Italy send out their submarines. One to the two box in the Cape Verde Basin, one to the 0-box of the East Coast , and the last to the three box in East Med. The Submarines search in all three sea areas.

Note that Dutch partisans can appear. I suggest that a land unit is send there to guard the resource.

I hope you plan to save the North Sea U-boat for intercept attempts or later searches.

I am sorry about my blunder at the East Coast. I forgot that the weather needed to be fine for that search to succeed. [:(]

Japan 2. Assume that should be the bomber in Hengyang?

Italy 1. The Italian ATR is already with the Para
Italy 2. Is this right? You want the Italian NAV in Holland?

Thanks

1) That was a guarding order if the paratrooper moved. If the PARA moves closer to France then the para threatens to jump on more hexes behind enemy lines. Although I suspect that the hexes closer to the front are to crowded to allow for both the PARA and the Italian LND.

2) Indeed. One must try and exercise the opponents mind as well as his forces. Maybe I have a plan or maybe I am just plain stupid kind of thing. More seriously I do have a thought behind it. Firstly, there are currently no nice targets on the Med front. Secondly, there are plenty of nice things for a naval bomber up North. To bad that the first Italian naval bomber was lost and that Germany lacks pilots. Would have been nice with two naval bombers on both fronts.

Although Netherlands may have to be reconsidered as base if the partisan risk is not eliminated. Maybe Italy should send a unit there? Although I had planned for the Italians to hunt partisans in France. If we get that far. [:D]

This will probably be the last Axis impulse this turn. My suggestions. Look hard on Antwerpen, French armor stack. Could you get a low odds attack there(1-1), provided you have the correct loss units at your hand?
The para might be better used in the Med at after next turn. Sent it there and one more GE Inf div. JP should switch more units to the North, weather shifts.

Antwerp is tempting. I think we can get a 1:1 +3. If so there is a 20% chance of losing two units and a 20% chance of taking the hex. I am tempted - what say you Ormster?

I am also tempted.

Although I think the goal should be to get 3:2 +3 or, with luck, 2:1 +3.

I will run through a test run this evening and see if 3:2 is possible - I would be very surprised if 2:1 is possible given the -1 for Rain, and defensive shore bombardment but we shall see. Time for a select band of Kriegsmarine ships to foray perhaps [:)]

If Kriegsmarine sorties it is more likely that they suffer more than the RN. We need some luck for a even result. I think it would be better to save the German navy for better odds or when Bismarck has arrived.

Another solution is to send out the Italian naval bomber. It needs some luck to send British ships back to port but the risk is very low.
