Newly Converted

Post by gbaby »

Having all kinds of time on my hands (retired), I decided to give TOAW a chance again. I owned the original, and just did not get it. Was not happy with it. Put it away.

Tried again when TOAW III came out, but still, just didn't "get it". Put it to the side.

Now again, coming back to it, I've played several scenarios, some big ones, and it clicked. I don't know how I got such a bad impression first few times, but what a great game TOAW is!

After some time and mistakes, experience with the game leads to a realization this is a gem of a game, and I'm now having a blast with it, wondering what my earlier misunderstandings were all about.

So I'm converted, admit I was wrong, and grateful after so many years to try one more time, this time being the eye opener. Also, this game sure stands up to the test of time, it is still a great product and I greatly appreciate the work to continue to update it.

Now where is TOAW IV? I'll be sure to get it. Thanks for a wonderful product.

Welcome to the Art of War.

Glad you are back. TOAW IV is coming along. It may be a while, not a big team working on it, but it will be worth the wait. But time you spent refining your tactical skills will be well spent since these are timeless and many scenarios will basically be the same with major improvements in the user interface and the editor ( for designers).

Enjoy.
