Turn 19. Sep/Oct 1942. Axis #9. Weather.

... roll low for the weather when you're in desperate need for the turn to end or the weather to be bad.

This turn continues and passes to the axis with fine weather everywhere! [:@]

SO42 i9
Japan and Italy take combined actions. Germany takes a land action.

JP flew a fighter to the 4-box of the Solomons and a fighter to the 3-box of the Arabian Sea.
JP is moving a 7 counter fleet into the Solomons. Will the Japanese attempt an interception. If so who initiates?

SO42 i9 Naval Searches:
Japan moved the fleet above onto the New Zealand Coast 2-box. Subs scattered across several zones.
Italians moved a CP into the E. Med.

E. Med, the Italians initiated but rolls of 7/3 resulted in no combat.
Arabian sea rolls (new sub and fighter in zone) of 8/10 resulted in no combat.
SCS, I did not initiate and the allies don't have an option.
CS, I did not initiate and the allies don't have an option.
The Solomons, I did not initiate but the allies will have the option (will you?). Image shown below.
The Tasman Sea rolls of 10/5 resulted in no combat.
In Polynesia rolls of 9/6 resulted in no combat.

And finally in the New Zealand Coast, the allies get the drop on the Japanese with rolls of 8/1. How do you wish to proceed?

As much as I would like to fight the IJN just has too much of an advantage. Use 4 SPs to avoid combat.

SO42 i9 Ground Strikes
I have several ground strikes. No interceptions possible.
In the one below, the AA in the hex being ground struck could fire (guaranteeing me at least one disorganized unit in the hex).
Will the AA fire? If it fires it will be with 8 AA factors resulting in -1/6 AA roll.

SO42 i9 GS
Looks like the AA should have fired. Both units in that hex were hit. Other ground strikes (this and the next post) were not as successful - though the Japanese did get lucky).

SO42 Land Attacks (4 in two post)
First land attack in Siberia. Japanese did use HQ support. Won the hex, but only destroyed one of the corp. I converted the shatter to a retreat (did not want the unit to show up on the European map). Though if I shattered it, I believe the two disorganized planes in Vladivostok would not have reorganized because they would have had no path to oil. I may regret this next turn.

Other three attacks are automatic.
