Allied aircraft
F4F-3 Wildcat x 7
F4F-4 Wildcat x 25
SBD Dauntless x 41

It was mildly amusing to watch my opponent blast the hell out of the little PC, but no TF Commander would send off such an attack on such a small target, FoW or not. His ability rating would have to be under 30...

For the pilots, that would be a mass "Article 15" meeting ,(not to mention the training sessions!)..And yet, somebody will always come up with a good reason for it!

And after hitting a lone PC or PG or DD in the morning with multiple hits the AI will usually launch a full strike in the afternoon at it again. In the case of a PC or PG I usually lose more planes to opperational losses than prestige points gained from sinking the boat (usually one).

I love UV but I think the pilots are a little over-eager or maybe bloodthirsty is a better word.

Not to mention the Morale and Fatigue hits you take. It's a flaw in an otherwise great game in my view.

Yes, it can be tweaked a bit. As I posted before, I had my mediums fly over 70 skip bombing sorties against one lowly ML in Port Morsby, scoring over 30 500 pound bomb hits!-while totally ignoring a hugh 15 ship transport convoy that was invading PM. Now I understand FOW and all but you would think the troops at PM would have told them about the other convoy :-)

You also would have to think that after about the 15th bomb hit or so on the pitiful ML, there would not have been much more floating around to bomb.

Hehe...

That happens in surface combat, too. Last night I caught a transport TF trying to sneak troops into PM. My TF had just enough experience to get off obscene numbers of hits, but not enough to go after more than 2 targets at once. One poor little MSW took so many hits (something like 30-40 shells and 2 torps) that I was yelling at my ships!

ENOUGH ALREADY! IT'S SWISS CHEESE! CEASE FIRE, CEASE FIRE!!! :D
I give approximately two fifths of a !#$% at any given time!
