Thank you. [:)]

The computer is safe. It was just the imaginary digital dies that were thrown. [:D]

I seek comfort that I been lucky with the strategic bombing. At least lately. And I hope that luck continues since new strategic bombing missions are coming up. Bad weather is no obstacle to our brave pilots.

I feel your frustration when you make good moves and the dice go against you (although in this instance, am also mightily relieved). Hope your computer has survived its rendezvous with the brickwork.

Remember to hit CPU, hitting screen does not help. I can tell you.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

USSR ground strike the Japanese forces in Kirin, again. For no effect. (4 rolled and 2 or less needed)

Now that I have reached the end of the thread I thought I should add my appreciation for your work in reporting about the game you played (while also bettering it). It's reminicent of the old WiF annual that could have the occasional AAR as well. Thanks. [:)]
[&o] [:)]

I hope that you continue to follow our war as it unfolds, so that you can see all the dumb moves I make. Hopefully, some of my mistakes can be taken for brilliance when I have luck on my side.

Plenty of fun playing the game. Even more fun that someone takes their time reading it. Thank you.

It did make me install the game again and fire it up anew.[8D]

I'll probably stick to reading this, but it did give me even more appreciation for all your hard work.[:D]

Kudos, etc.

I suspect there are plenty of us reading them. Though it is getting a bit confusing with 4 separate games now ongoing. I'm not sure how you can keep them all straight. :-)

Land Movement (cont)

Chinese Communist
Mao orders his Eastern Army to continue the pursuit of Terauchi. He is deeply concerned when he learns that forces loyal of Chiang Kai Shek have pushed north of Nanking and so orders two corps of militia to try and outflank the Japanese north of Kaifeng. With their southern flank thus protected, this move allows the Cavalry corps to head east for Tsinan - although they are unable to take the town.

Land Movement (cont)

Soviet Union
Reacting to the increasing threat from the continued German build-up of forces, the Soviets continue to make detail changes along the Eastern Front. The order goes out to prepare the Dvina and Dneister lines....

In the Far East there is less activity - although the Vladivostok Militia continue their move west to join the front line units of the 1st Far Eastern Front.

Air Transport
None

Land Combat
The Soviets announce an attack on Kirin. A bomber is brought in to try and increase the fractional odds chances. In the meantime the odds are 3:1 +1 (using the winterized bonus).

Battle of Kirin - 19th February 1942

1st Far Eastern Front - Koniev

1st Siberian Corps
4th Guards Mechanised Army
14th Army
59th Army
3rd Siberian Corps
1st Mountain Corps
1st Mountain Division
39th Army

3rd Bomber Aviation Regiment
SB-2RK (2,1,3,1) - (Inoperative)
Su-2M (3,*,4,1)

I assume this is assault table?

Normal service has been resumed for me in the dice throwing dept. I get the fractional odds in my favour only to throw a 3.

Which unit do the Japanese lose? The MIL or the TERR?

I take it that Japan can select to lose the MIL or the TERR. No Japanese INF included in the combat.

On the face of it yes, but without advancing we cannot win the game. a throw of just 4 would have meant a loss but we would also have taken the city and cost them both units - but my dice of choice appears to be 2 or 3....

I have to leave the decision for AllenK because I don't know Japanese plans that well.
