Hey Bill Olson, ever had any of your batteries explode? Anybody else? http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2017 ... /99203876/

Mine are in a well managed system. Li-ion batteries rarely have a problem when well managed.

Not to mention the dialogues. What follows is from "The Big Sleep". Humphrey Bogart (Philip Marlowe) and Lauren Bacall (Vivian) talk about "horse racing":

Vivian: Speaking of horses, I like to play them myself. But I like to see them workout a little first, see if they're front runners or come from behind, find out what their hole card is, what makes them run.
Marlowe: Find out mine?
Vivian: I think so.
Marlowe: Go ahead.
Vivian: I'd say you don't like to be rated. You like to get out in front, open up a little lead, take a little breather in the backstretch, and then come home free.
Marlowe: You don't like to be rated yourself.
Vivian: I haven't met anyone yet that can do it. Any suggestions?
Marlowe: Well, I can't tell till I've seen you over a distance of ground. You've got a touch of class, but I don't know how, how far you can go.
Vivian: A lot depends on who's in the saddle.

"Yes darling, I served in the Navy for eight years. I was a cook..."
"Oh dad... so you were a God-damned cook?"

Heck, I was admiring the string of posts with pictures of lovely ladies and - trusting the Forumites - was anticipating more of the same after the battery explosion intermezzo. Instead I was confronted by pictures of wrinkled old men! [X(] Oh the horror, deception and cold shower! Geoff, what were you thinking?!? If I wanted to confront wrinkled old men, I would visit the Geezer thread... I'm tolerant but this breaks immersion - please open a seperate thread for guy pictures.

This is for Orm if no one else. Queen Smaug has become quite efficient at driving off other birds. I'm supposed to be counting birds at my feeders today and tomorrow for the Cornell Ornithology Lab Feederwatch project. I've so far today seen one Downy Woodpecker land on one of my feeders and before I could identify its gender or it could grab a bite the Mockingbird was on it. I don't have seven feeders out there for one mockingbird. I'm fixing to dump out all the feeders into trays which if birds don't take it the squirrels will and I'll just not put up any feeders until the queen plays her game of thrones and moves on to another territory. Otherwise I might start thinking about a movie starring Gregory Peck.
So what is the status on Queen Smaug? And the other, various, birds that visit your backyard, and feeders.

The world wants to know. And, more importantly, I would like to hear it. [:)]
