I stand corrected [8D]. I do have problems with minimising.

If this is what is causing some of our problems, how do we avoid if we only have 1 screen, short of saving and closing the game every time we want to change to another app?

Is it safe to continue the game after the MadEx, save the game and restart?
I got this bug and I didn't minimize MWIF. I almost never do and if I accidently do minimize MWIF I terminate it and reload it as soon as possible. No way that I continue after minimizing. I learned that the hard way.

I tested placing all CW units and there was no problem.

Is there a reported problem with current version or is this a total mystery?

1) Go to the CW save with all the CW units placed, including convoy lines at sea.
2) Open production planning.
3) Close production planning.
4) Advance to next MP.
And here I suffer a MadEx.

Oftentimes the game can be continued despite a Mad Except by just choosing Continue in the Mad Except prompt.

Why not change to another application without minimizing MWIF? I do that all the time.

That's generally what I do. I swap between applications by clicking on their icon in the task bar. I don't use the minimise button. Is there another way of swapping between other than the task bar?
'alt+tab' is what I usually use.

Thanks Orm, I'll give that a try.

Exactly the same as I posted in Tech Support, which shows it's more likely a generic problem, rather than software/hardware incompatibility.

Does it happen only in set up or also during the game?

I guess we'll get to see in the End of Turn phase for Game 1 when we place reinforcements. It did work okay for my run through and at times I went into and out of production planning.

The problem might be with leaving the Production Planning form open while modifying the convoy placements during setup. Especially tricky is splitting or merging convoys. The program creates convoy units when they are split and that information might not make it to the Production Planning form's data promptly/correctly.

Not the ones I had. I simply opened the production planning and the next thing I did was closing it. That was enough for the MadEx.

Same for me with the game file posted in Tech Support. I also tend to close the form when placing CP's then reopen to check the effect.

If this game manages to get going i.e. no game ending bugs then I will fill in the detail re the set-up. However given the first false start and the fact that I still can't enter production in set up phase, I am expending as little time and effort on this as possible.
