French surrender question

Post by Seminole »

Is it possible to tell as the Allies if the Germans have eschewed French capitulation and the establishment of Vichy France?

I'm not sure if my capital just moved because the French haven't quit, or because Jerry isn't done conquering.
I'm leaning toward the former because he didn't move into some cities he could have otherwise (that would end up Vichy)

Playing PBEM.

I just went thru it as the Allies vs. Axis computer. When Paris fell, France surrendered, and there was a message that Germany had established Vichy France. So I think you can tell by getting that message or not getting it.

In my PBEM French morale was at 25, so they didn't surrender when Paris fell. One turn later they suffered the lost of most of their remaining land units and offered surrender with morale at 20. My opponent elected to establish Vichy France.
I'm just wondering if you get notice as the Allied player that the German player rejected Vichy and is going for full conquest. I didn't really have enough land units to do much more in France, but how and if to fight in the Med and try to preserve Algiers was what was on my mind. Moot in this case, now I just have to worry about his Sea Lion, or whether the Axis amphib limitations have him reconsidering.

If Germany rejects an armistice then the French capital will move to Algiers and some units will deploy there.

If your capital has moved to Bordeaux then Germany is yet to have the option to decide on whether or not to sign an armistice.
