What AP experience really affect is AP’s chance to survive in combat, transports with high experience have more chances to avoid bombs and torpedoes and use its artillery more often and more deadly. So if you’re creating invasion TF, pick up only most experienced transport for this job
I can confirm this as well. ANY higher exp ship will avoid projectiles with much more success. They also fire and hit much more often as well. In my current game, the
Pensacola is about 72/98 day/night exp where the
Chester is about 86/64. I had them in the same TF, and the Pensy outgunned the
Chester by about 2:1 in gunnery, but did poorly the next morning in defense against a nearly equal amount of attacking a/c, getting 2 250kg bomb hits vs. the
Chester's none. That's just one example I've noticed.
