I got the same error several times when loading a game. It's related to "draw_sprite_to_buffer" (it's not "railed" but "Failed")

one for each poster thanks

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8 )
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments (zip) rather than pasted into the body of the post.

I get this bug often too, I'll try to following the above steps when it next happens and will post a dxdiag file here

I cannot start and play an edited campaign.

Loaded the standard campaign and saved it as custom campaign with different name without doing any changes in editor.

When trying to start I allways have an error dialog opened and game ends:
'SDL FAILED(2): Failed to blit surface'

Title of dialog:
'draw_operational_management_panel_to_buffer(5)'

Same behaviour on V1.00 and 1.01

From time to time I had this bug in the standard campaign '1939 Storm Over Europe', but not very often, maybe 5 times in 3 weeks playing.

Hi,

Any news for this bug ?
got it when i try to create a new campaign from an existing one.
I just load the '39 campaign in the editor, save it under another name, launch the game, select this new campaign, and the game crash during loading Image

Thanks in advance

Hi Harrer,

The following files have been amended with the latest builds.

If you have custom versions in your custom campaign then they would need to be updated to the latest as well. If not, those unamended files in your custom campaign will trigger this type of drawing error as the game engine is looking for portions of the files that are not there or missing graphically.

Hi Hubert,

Thanks for your quick answer.
However ...i don't understand it xD
Those 3 files are not in the 1.01 version?
Custom versions of what ? I haven't change anything in the '39 campaign, i loaded it, and resaved it under another name without any modification.
Could tell me what i'm doing wrong and how to fix it please ? [&o]

Hi Harrer,

Those files are in all the versions of the current game, they've just been amended in the latest Beta updates, i.e. sprites added and the game engine could crash on that part of the code if it isn't looking at the correct file.

Sometimes modders amend those files to a custom look, let's say you wanted to have a custom interface look, and they are a part of their custom campaign.

If you didn't update them then this is not the issue for you.

Let's see if we can narrow the issue down. What version of the game are you currently running? Do you have more than one version installed?

One version installed, upgraded in 1.01.00 it was my first try to see if i can edit a campaign, after the bug (i made some modifications inside my campaign), i made a fresh install but still got the bug with that simple "save '39 campaign under another name without making any modification".
Don't know if it's important but i got asked before saving if i want to continue or update things (guard units i think) and i clicked on "yes" (save without updating)

Sorry for my english and thanks for your help :)

Hi Harrer,

I'm not really sure then what the issue could be as I'm unable to repeat it on my end following your steps using my latest Editor and Game EXE. There will be a new update very soon, if you can download and install this update and then let me know if the issue persists we can go from there... but I have a feeling it will work fine with the next update to the game.

Hopefully this is ok?
Hubert

P.S. Your english is fine!

Any idea when the update will be release? [:)]
I guess i have no other choice than wait and hope for the best then, thanks for you help !
If you have any other idea in the meantime ... let me know.

I'll let you know if the issue remains or not with the next patch.
