Doesn't seem possible? I am as blind as a bat with the smokescreen at the moment. Hard to see the German icons in the smoke.

For awhile I thought there was a way to reduced to little puffs. It must have been removed at some point.

I don't recall a key to decrease the smoke. you might need to locate your units using the HUD display. double clicking on a unit in the HUD will center the screen on the unit and there should be a pulsing outline to help see it.

If you're still unable to orient yourself, you could use the enlarge unit hotkey. I think it's an apostrophe. you can see all of the hotkeys using the 'k' key.
