Lets see: Kuantan, Mersing, Buin, Aitape, Wewak, Legaspi, Tarawa, Aparri, Adak invaded or taken.

The light cruiser Adelaide shows up at Buin and sinks an xakl, but after the troops were offloaded to take Buin.

Overall a very bloody day; and tomorrow promises to be just as bloody.

Lady Lex could have steamed almost anywhere and if she avoided the night encounters really done some damage. She did in the damaged Tatsuta and a damaged destroyer from yesterday.

Step 1 in the Aleutians is achieved....via AMC. I was fearful the Lexington was initially up here, but when she showed up east of Guam I decided to send the AMC in. Of course Enterprise could be here, but I figure she is supporting the Lex somehow.

The Legaspi invasion force...I was worried about this force running into several enemy task forces. It would have been a better choice than Taytay...but the Allied naval search in the northern SRA is seemingly weak.

You are 5 days hanging out at Pearl? How long will you/can you linger? Did you change to level bombing with the Vals to avoid flak?

As the Allies, I do not know if I would be happy to know KBs position for so long or frustrated that Pearl keeps getting pounded. My guess is happy to know where KB is located. The modern CLs are a tough loss but most Allied players see the BBs as fairly useless until they can be used as bombardment TFs.

The map is Bellum Pacifica and there is a thread on it in the mod section. Or is it Pacifica Bellum?

The weather and combat screens are from mods near the end on another thread in the mod screen, along with art for the planes and symbols for the units.

I know Obvert is getting frustrated at Pearl. He has complained at the seemingly lack of AA losses. I can't stand those battleships, I was bombarded daily by 10 or more for six months. I place a high value on them...heck with what Obvert thinks about them. I want some on the bottom.

I am sure Obvert got frustrated with my multiple small task forces at Taytay...where they once again beat off superior Allied naval forces...sinking 5-6 destroyers for no loss. Early on night fights need really only have 2-3 ships to be super effective.

It does make for rough sleeping knowing the Allies know where the KB is...

The Vals went in at 16K. The Kates the normal 13K and they are still carrying a good percentage of 800Kg which are the nasty bombs. Plus I swept first.

I lingered this day...but I am debating about leaving, and trying to pincer the Enterprise of Lexington.

The Palembang Invasion force is assembling one hex to the northeast of the minefield and will land at Palembang on the morrow.

These turns are so massive, and so busy, I just realized I forgot to move a fast transport unit in...oh well.

More paratroop action tomorrow!

I need to get organized for my Ternate invasion and Balikpapen, but then Japan will probably pause to rearm, get better naval search up and start taking down the Allied fighters. 80 of them at Clark! Buffalos are missing from Singers. The Fighting Tigers showed up in a LRCAP and danced with Nates once over Ichang.

So much going on...and the Allies are fighting forward. Very fun if exhausting turns.

Trying to include some of the Shipping Engineers and their Naval Support/Shore Parties with your invasions of bases like Balikpapan with CD guns. It helps speed up the unloading and you can withdraw your transports quicker.

I recently installed the same map and after a few days of adjusting to it, I will now use it for the foreseeable future. [&o]

There are these real nice Shipping Coy with a few 41 IJA squads so that they even have some assault value...not only naval support going in, but rather plentiful engineers and AA guns too! Got to get the runway operational and protect that oil as I will be surrounded by big Allied bases.

Allied destroyers flee from the Taytay area, and only one light skirmish with a fresh three destroyer IJN squadron.

Daylight comes for Pearl...two sweeps and a strike. The morning ritual. The Maryland explodes violently, perhaps another goes down too.
