Version 2.48

Post by lionel1957 »

I still cannot figure out how to mod some unit characteristics such as; movement, attack and defend values, etc in the latest versions. The original version was easy to mode units -- just mode the units.txt file in the Data file and the changes showed up in the game!

The newer versions have units.csv in a Content file and when I mod those, they do not show up in the game. Even when I mod units in the MyGames etc. mod folder, the changes do not show up.

I am using Open Office to mod the units.csv files. Are there two files I must mod?

How the heck can I get this done? I must be missing something?

Just tried it and modded M3 Satan fine. I don't mess with the mygames directory anymore. I adjust the units.csv file in the main folder OOB/OOB WW2_Data/Content/Data.

Obviously, this is the file the game uses, so back it up. Also, I find Notepad++ is infinitely better when modding than Open Office, and can easily be downloaded via google search.

There is some editing/modding info on the Slitherine forum.

I am assuming the attack to defense values are Differentials, not ratios, is this correct?
