Yeah, the same depth limitations of Los Angeles-class was showed in two other transcendent books:
https://www.amazon.com/Cold-War-Submari ... 1574885308
https://www.amazon.com/U-S-Submarines-S ... 1557502609

(in my personal DB in Harpoon HCE/HUCE Los Angeles and derivatives for years are limited to intermediate depth, no more deep depth).

Adjusted. Thanks

Henri.K about the DF-26, whose warhead/RV has been revealed recently.

Image

And yeah, even though people might cry "Copy of the Pershing-II!!!1" now, there really isnt any better design to achieve the mission requirements eg. the angle-of-attack at Mach 8 and beyond than the sphere-biconic-with-flaps configuaration, as Henri points out with the Chinese research paper that was recently disclosed.

Image
Image

surprisingly good google translate, pointing out the requirements for the RV and its capability of reaching up to Mach 11 at terminal stage (and Mach 14 immediately after boost phase):
So why this "physical resemblance"?

Have the engineers of the two Chinese missile groups, CASC and CASIC, "copied" again as the media try to repeat it - for lack of technical arguments and probably to remain "politically correct" and to please the Public hearings - or are there many special reasons because the physical laws are expressed in the same way for everyone living under the same sky?

The research paper " Design for aerodynamic configuration of a hypersonic axisymmetric maneuverable reentry vehicle ", written by the chief engineer of the DF-26 program, ZHU Guang Sheng (朱广生), which belongs to the CALT Institute, Be given some explanation on the choice of this technical configuration.

ZHU first outlined the needs of its study for a maneuverable atmospheric reentry vehicle, which must perform large mid- and high-altitude maneuvers, rapid low-level trajectory changes, and controllable adjustments in position and speed during Of the terminal approach phase.

For this, the machine must have the following characteristics:

Relatively large lift and high aerodynamic fineness
A small margin of static stability
Effective control of aerodynamic control surfaces
A sufficient internal working volume
Low load torque
A controllable descent speed

A ballistic missile with an optimum trajectory of 4,000 km reaches a speed of more than 5 km / s after its propelled phase, and nearly 3.8 km / s, a little more than Mach 11 at the apogee Of its course. The lift of such a hypersonic gear, at the time of its atmospheric re-entry, comes mainly from its body, and the aerodynamic fineness of its form. The control surfaces only serve to control. Thus, the aerodynamic shape of the atmospheric re-entry head must meet the needs of a large normal force and low axial force.

In order for the various sensors of the head to operate optimally, in particular in the case of an ASBM which combines the information coming from multiple sensors in order to be able to locate, identify and acquire its target, it requires that the descent speed be controllable. And the best way to regulate this velocity is by conical motion, that is, the velocity vector of the head rotates about its symmetrical axis.

And the form that meet all these criteria for such a head is precisely biconical. But the precise dimensions of this bi-cone so that the flight is optimum vary according to the speed of the craft, the mass, the barycentre and a set of parameters.

So, Henri.K and the research paper is implying that the DF-26 ASBM is a faster missile than the DF-21D ASBM is, due to the longer range and more propellant that can be used to increase speed of up to 5km/s (Mach 14) during boost-phase. Terminal velocity after reentry would be 3.8km/s (Mach 11), which would be expected for an IRBM, actually.

Also, he estimates that the range is 4000km and there are at least 4 Brigades deployed today.

The bicone design shouldn't be so secretive or difficult to make, but why it takes too long for China to reveal it?

But the US have precised the ABM test. The test RV based on Pershing-2 will be (and now it is) the direct counterpart of Chinese MaRV, that will not make China have much of advantages.

Be happy that they disclosed it at all. That's not usual for China.

And the shape itself isnt everything, but, as Henri has shown, the carrying missile as well, which determines the speed, altitude and trajectory of the RV.
And if image analysis is to be believed, one could make out maneuvering thruster ports on the surface of the DF-26 RV (small black holes not existing on the other RVs depicted).

The USMC KC-130J's (db #1510, #3104, #4299) don't have their removable fuselage fuel tanks modeled. All of their missions, including Ferry and Tanker missions, use the same 29300kg fuel amount that approximates a KC-130's baseline fuel capacity without the fuselage tanks. The correct figure with the fuselage tanks modeled should be ~38,000kg.

This is another high-end civilian drone that might end up in the hands of rebels, terrorists, etc. These things could really be a threat because they could fly for hours, spot ships 20 or 30 miles offshore that would normally not be visible to people, and then fly back home. Thanks for considering this one.

#1767 - 272 Gen. K. Pulaski [Perry] - 2000
#2414 - 272 Gen. K. Pulaski [Perry] - 2008

I was playing with the "You BREXIT, You Fix it!" LIVE scenario and was pleased to see the OH Perry ships the US sold (gave?) to Poland. Love the Perry class and miss them. Hope to see them continue springing up in smaller navies around the world to serve for 20-30 more years!

I noticed after reviewing the most current DB3000 Build 461 that the Pulaski entries don't include the following weapons on platform:

Mk15 Pkalanx Blk 0
SM1-MR Blk VIB
RGM-84D Harpoon IC

I said, OK, maybe the US removed these weapons prior to transfer to Poland, but after researching on the internet and reviewing post-transfer pictures of the 272 and 273 new hull numbers it appears they both were transferred and operate with all weapons intact.

Here's what is likely a reputable link that confirms that:

http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/pol ... tes-07020/

You can do a google search and find dozens of post-transfer pictures and you can clearly see the iconic Mk15 Phalanx dome and Mk13 launcher is present on both 272 and 273 hulls. As a matter of fact, just check the pictures included with the community picture pack!

Has there been any interest in putting Tacit Blue into the game as a hypothetical aircraft? It would be a JSTARs LPI radar mated to a subsonic highly stealthy aircraft.

EASR radar has 2 variants. The 3 face variant for CVNs that is is DB.

And a 1 face rotating variant intended for amphibs including LHA-8 Bougainville which is expected to be delivered in 2024. I'm sure it will also have SEWIP 3 but assume will otherwise be similar to LHA-6. Can these be added?

Thanks

Any chance F/A-18 Super Hornet block 3 (advanced super hornet) can be added? Also growler variant? Maybe as hypothetical for now?

Conformal fuel tanks with 3500lb fuel
50% reduced frontal rcs
Enclosed weapons bay
Internal IRST
Enhanced engines with increased thrust and fuel efficiency

Should be present on:

Tapper-class (4 launchers on the foredeck)

Swedish navy is uppgrading Tapper-class, could this be added to the DB?

Sweden orders new ship/land attack missiles

RB 15 Mk3+ for the navy and RB 15F-ER for the Air Force, deliveries after 2020, can you model this in some way and add to the DB or do you need more info?

JAS 39E/F should be able to carry 2-4 of these missiles in different loadouts.

Both Mk13 and Mk15 on Pulaski are broken and didn't work when she was transferred from USN to Poland. The ship is in dock since early 2015 and its doubtful if it will be possible to even partially restore weapons system functionality. So far refit is over a year behind schedule and still new problems are discovered.
