territorial takeover not working properly?

Post by Leadwieght »

So, just started playing on 1.03 as the Axis and got a bit of a shock.

German armies advancing into Poland do not seem to automatically take over hexes that they pass through.

At the end of their move, they control the hex they are in and maybe an adjacent hex that they haven't moved into (as por normal rules), but they don't flip the hexes "behind" them.

Anybody else seen this? Is this intentional?

Makes it virtually impossible to do Fall Weiss in two turns, because units that advance towards warsaw and bypass Polish units in the border end up with ) supply the next turn.

That happened to my Indian corps advancing into Axis Iraq - it ended its move as if surrounded. The next turn I withdrew it partway towards the Allied lines when the boundaries changed to reconnect it to the Allied ones. This occurred when I was still using the Beta pbem but after 1.03 had issued. I have since updated to 1.03 but haven't tried using is so far.

Yes I confirm . It happens every where not only in Poland . If your units advances too far, the empty hexes revert to former ownership thus indeed isolating your unit if it Advanced too far

Moving a unit one hex at a time avoids this issue. But really seems like a bug.

This is a recently discovered bug linked to the undo moves setting, i.e. if it is disabled what you've described can happen under the right circumstances.

I've recently fixed this and could post a hotfix for it if there is enough demand.

Hi Hubert,

Thanks for your reply.

Speaking for myself, I can live with the bug for now. Just have to remember to move one hex at a time when grabbing new territory.

If I understand you correctly, this bug does NOT occur if one has "undo moves" enabled?
