Hi Bo,

I hope you have success. That is too far back to remember if it's possible.

I cranked it up on my WinPro7 a few weeks back and it worked fine. I didn't have to anything special. Just stuck the disc into the computer and it started right up.

PS: I bought that game probably 15 years ago. And actually I did do one thing. I patched it after the initial re-installation.

yep board seems to be having a bad day, the sooner it gets upgraded or wiped, the better, before it falls to bits[:(]

Hi Jagger, I downloaded WitP from matrix and it works fine but it was free so I could care less, but to pay $19 for Uncommon Valor ouch [:D] You said you had no problems right?

Bo,

I liked Uncommon Valor way back in the day.
It was my first Matrix game and lead me into WITP and a bunch of others.

Honestly, from what I remember I can't see paying the cost for it here in 2017.

Like all games it has good and bad points. I can't remember either after all these years.

I hope you wind up happy.

If memory serves, right clicking on the UV icon, then going into properties and selecting the comparability drop-down list to XP or later should work.

Did you buy it yet, Bo? As I may have a boxed copy I'd mail you for free. (I like using my client's Fedex account!)

I probably last played it on XP. It was a simplified version of WITP of course. But not that simple. Worth $19 if you are breaking into the game system. Otherwise, WitP AE when it goes on sale again and like me start with small scenarios.

I was going to rosseau, but was not sure of it playing on my OS windows 7 home premium 64 bit. If you send it to me I would deeply appreciate it, and I will be eternally grateful and will agree with all your posts without reservation for at least 1 year [;)] Maybe [:D] Will e-mail you.

Hi Joe D, Joe Dimaggio maybe [;)] Do you remember what the OS systems are on the game.

P.S. Just looked it up Joe last OS mentioned was XP, what I am concerned about is my computer has 64 bit OS. Maybe someone can help me do a work around if I get the game.

I've had win7-64 for 7 years now and I'm sure I've fired UV up during that time without problem.

edit: just fired up the Coral Sea scenario and ran 4 turns. Works fine without any changes to settings. Be aware that your video card driver can affect things.

Bo
Just to clarify, the box will cost you more $10, so the final price is $29.95.
