After it's foinished, I can set up an ftp site

Post by Tom_Davie »

After I finish getting the file, I'll set up an ftp site (I have a cable modem, but a hard cap limit of 50 kilobytes/sec upload speed) witha limit of 4 users, so if you have cable or ADSL you should be able to get 12.5 k/sec. So it should take you 4.0 hours to snag the file. I apologize, but I am going to set my ftp site to reject users below 10k/ sec.

BUT, I will make copies of the upgrade available on CD and send em to people. I haven't decided yet how many, but will post this when I post the ftp site info sometime tomorrow. I won't charge becaue I'm omly willing to send them to USA or Canada. Sorry for people in other parts of the world, but Canada Post wants an arm an a leg to do this.

Will report back romorrow night.

By the way; THANKS MATRIX

I'll set up a ftp in approx. 3 hours from now in Germany/Europe . Allowing up to maximal 10 connections, but 10Mbit so it should be good for DSL in Europe. If someone tries from an university which is member of the DFN/Gbit net it should be nearly 8Mbit netto speed :D

PS I'll check the file prior to setting the ftp - just in case Getright made some probs with the file...

Tom_Davie, as far as making copies of downloads, don't forget that this is Matrix's first chance to have the game for a profit! They need to make a good showing for all the hard work they have done for us.
This is so they can continue with their other projects. :( Just a thought.

Randy, I think you misunderstood him, he wonts to spread just the V5.0 and not the MegaCampaign. And AFAIK MatrixGames only makes money by selling the MegaCampaign ?:|
So no harm done if he passes along the V5.0 and makes some guys hungry for the full MegaCampaigns :D

Yup, this is for the version 5.0 only, and not for the mega campaign (whichh you can notdownload). In any event, Matrix may not make any money directly from SP upgrades according to an oringinal agreement with SSI/Mattel. Mind you, I don't know how much of that original agreement id lwft in place. In any event, I certainly wouldn't place the MC up for download.

At this moment, its moot because both the 5.0 complete and upgrade downloads have crapped out on y cable.

We encourage the distribution of the v5 internet (ie non-MC version). The sale version is what we hope folks will pay for, if they want us to continue in business!
