Fixed it!! Yay..
Solution:Get rid of multiple versions of python and just kept the most recent 3.4
Yeah! The environment was the next thing to look at. Thank you - that will help your Gorn brother in arms, currently stationed on the Forbidden Planet. He has the same error.

BTW I think you placed the files there because updateReport I've only noticed in the save folder. placeholder I don't know about.

To make life easier I assume you know about adding the -archive switch to your AE shortcut to make it put files there automagically every turn?

BTW, what was the other version of Python that you had installed? That info might help me trouble shoot with other people or maybe to improve things.

OK here's the thing...
I had three versions of python installed in total. Version 27,3.3 and 3.4. The thing is the version 27 I dont think was a normal version (it was like a server or something I cant remember). However, I obtained it through following the install links provided. So,my advice would be to clarify "exactly" what python you would like candidates to install. If you just google Python download it will take you to the correct page, and just download the most recent version. Hope this helps.

It is on the web page, but it has more recently come to light that some of the (totally legitimate) installers do not set the path or register the file types, so getting Python from python.org is to be preferred, the latest of version 3 (at this moment that is 3.4.2).

You can manually move those files into the archive folder for now, but Michael will have to look at whatever happened inside the AE code to make them start going to SAVE instead of SAVE\archive.

Just select each of the misplaced files and drag it to that 'archive' folder.

Forgive me if this was answered, because I could not find it, but only sigint and combat report buttons work. Am I missing something?

Ill let George answer that, but for me having all the signet data compiled and sortable
has added a lot for me.

I got the itch to create icons for all the WitPAE utilities I use. For Intel Monkey I decided to create two options:

A generic icon that could be used for any WitPAE related program, really:

Image

One a little more specific to Intel Monkey [:D]:

It appears I can't upload the .zip file with the .ico files to this thread. [:(]

Try cheating. Make the zip file normally. Rename it add .txt to the end (it will be "name.zip.txt") then see if you can upload it. When downloaded, the recipient should rename it to remove the extra ".txt". See if that works.

I didn't want to circumvent the file upload rules set for this thread.

That said, file attached as requested.

Got it, thanks.

Those are really tiny so hopefully the management won't mind. [8D]

Thought I'd try intel Monkey but hit a problem. Everything works fine until I hit the point where I want to read a file. It read nothing. All I see is shown below

I've got to head out now, I'll check in later.

Meanwhile, check a couple of things.

- Without changing anything it wants to be in a certain place so it knows how to navigate to find the files. Make sure it is in your AE folder (whatever your installation is called, I'll refer to it here as "AE" for short), under:
"AE\tools\anyname"

- It needs files to read. Look and see they are there. Look in:
"AE\SAVE\archive"

- The report files only get saved there if you are using the switch "-archive" in your shortcut.

The path I use is C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE. Everything else is correct.

The path I use is C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE. Everything else is correct.
Then, for example, you would install Intel Monkey in:
"C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE\tools\IntelMonkey" (The last part of the folder name could be different as you like, I just chose "IntelMonkey" for this example.)

Intel Monkey would then be correct in using it's default setting to go 'up' two levels to "C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE", then 'down' a level to "C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE\SAVE", then down another level to "C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE\SAVE\archive" to find the report files.

Have you looked in "C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE\SAVE\archive" to see if the report files are present there?
