Screen Resolution

Post by irishal »

I am unable to start the game due to my screen resolution.

Is there any way to lower the screen resolution of the game?

Would help if you told us what your desktop resolution is. [;)]

In the folder you can find the sc3.ini file.
C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War In Europe

In there you can play around with these settings. Best would be to stick to common resolutions.
Depending on what your desktop resolution is, I could advise you a bit better.

#ORIGINAL_SCREEN_WIDTH= 2560
#ORIGINAL_SCREEN_HEIGHT= 1440
#WINDOW_WIDTH= 2560
#WINDOW_HEIGHT= 1440

Could you please attach a DxDiag report file to your message / reply?

Please attach a DxDiag report fie.
How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8/10 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8/10)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message
7, if your new and can't / don't have permission etc, then copy paste into a reply

good luck,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPD_Win
Product Requirements :
OS: Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (Windows XP is not supported)
CPU: 1.5 GHZ Processor or Equivalent (Running the game in higher resolution requires more processing power.)
RAM: 1.5 GB (XP), 2 GB (Vista / 7)
Video/Graphics: 8MB video memory
Minimum screen resolution: 1024x768
Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card

Graphics Intel HD 405 Graphics 200MHz (600 max)

game was never tested as far as i know on anything other than a desktop and laptop, as this really doesn't fit into either, the hardware may or may not fit the bill, while even if you get it to work, the display and size may be a limiting factor on being even able to see it on such a small screen, but good luck, you never know until you try

Hi irishal,

The issue here is that the game has various menus and screens that require a minimum height of 768 pixels and if not then these would be cut off. Unfortunately I don't see an easy way around this at the moment.
