Thoughts

As I get ready to hit start on the first command cycle, I'm wondering what has Mad Russian got up his sleeve:

Is it another Hind attack at the beginning?
Are the Soviets closer than Intel thinks?
An attack from the East?

I’ve reviewed my thoughts prior to the developing the options and I think that the plan covers them well.

I’m hoping to engage the Soviets early and away from the VP locations. By getting the tanks and recce out front, I hope I can get a better idea of the Soviet plan so that I can adjust my deployment if necessary.

Let’s have some fun!

I see some tasty stacks of green spotted and waiting for Red air or arty to pounce. [X(]

Capn Darwin,

Yes, there were some great targets for Soviet fast air or Arty. I figured there was a good chance I could get away with it that early and in the dark....

AAR

What did I do right?

My plan was a good one and for the most part I stuck with it. Looking at my three options, I think this is the only one that would have given me a decisive success. The others would have worked, but not so well and taken much more time.

Defending forward of the VP locations was very helpful. Overall, the Soviets only got a handful 4-6 tanks near the VP locations in Scheebel.

My decision to leave my arty in place and strike at the Soviets near the B75 bridge was really good. They artillery missions were very productive.

What could I improve on?

Not much in this case, but I might have saved some M1s if I had put them in Hold after spotting the Hinds early on.

Thoughts on the scenario/game

This scenario was fun. Even though I ended up winning handily, there were a couple of moments early on where I was concerned. I thought that the Soviet TB in the West might push right through my defences and get on top of the Infantry. The Hinds also caused a brief concern.

Overall, it was nice to get the chance to be a bit more offensive and to take the game to the Soviets rather than waiting for them to hit me.

Bootlegger,

I checked out your AAR. Well done! I enjoy seeing how different players attempt the scenario. I enjoyed the narrative story too. That must be a lot of work!

Have a good day,

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Looks like this fight has taken off at a dead run.

Best of luck in the coming action.
