I left a battle in the Med for the last thing in a long turn. The Royal Navy and the USN teamed up on an Italian cruiser and got it down to 1 HP. It retreated into other Italian ships, evidently collided with one, lost 1 HP, and sank. At which point the game crashed to desktop. When I resume, I'll have to do that move over from the beginning.
Fire the US BB that is just south of the Italian CA near Tobruk. If the BB happens to get 3 HP on the CA, cause the CA to retreat, and collide with the Italian BB it is retreating through, you will trigger the crash. It might take you 10-20 tries to get that result.
Yet another thing they could look at is the CV Roma, which the Italians made instead of a BB. I need to run more sims, but it seems to me that it's way too powerful. My CV Ranger shows loss of 2 aircraft to 0 hits as the predicted outcome for attacks against the Italian BBs, but the Roma seems like it gets 4 hits per attack. It's hard to believe that with no experience at CV ops, the Italian Navy could get results like that out of the gate.
