Can you add a freighter in the DBase which allows itself to beach itself and unload cargo? I'd like this feature to recreate Red Storm Rising's scenario of the Icelandic invasion. Its quite a sneaky tactic, but I think quite realistic, especially for SOV/RUS/CHI which don't have amphibious assault assets like NATO. The ship would of course have to be considered neutral, until the units being unloaded are seen. That might add some complexity to the ID system, so maybe a scenario designer can just add exclusion zones on the coast.

RO\RO Vessels have been given this ability.

Thanks

Downloaded Cow and trying to learn the cargo feature. Is it possible to add, for example, US Army Rangers to an aircraft at an airbase? I watched Baloogans videos, but from what I can figure out with my little brain it's only possible to add the things that are in the cargo list (Editor -> Unit Actions -> Edit Cargo) to an aircraft?

Yeah add the rangers (7.62mm mounts) to the mag at the airbase. You can then load them and it does take a few minutes to do so.

Thanks!

Dumb Question
I load up a CH-53 with Marines on a cargo mission, fly them 200 mi and drop them in a "defined" area.

Can they become cargo again? (IE; assign them to an LZ as cargo to move them back out)

Thanks[:)]

Just to make sure: It's not possible to place a specific unit from the database, för example Delta Saboteurs in the proximity of an airbase with a C-130 and tell those Deltas to board that aircraft?

I´ve just bought Chains of War, and yet I can´t find the cargo mission/function in scenario mode - is this supposed to be the case?

Sorry, just found the switch - I expected it to be asked at when I entered the scenario.

You will need to add the mounts that make up the Delta Saboteurs to a part of the airbase as cargo before being able to load them onto the C-130.

There is no mechanism to load units back into helicopters / hovercraft / LST(etc) yet, this feature is right now focused on unloading units onto an LZ or beach.

I see. But when adding a mount (or weapon) to an airbase I can only select "Delta Force" or "Delta Force Para". I can't add, for example, specifically Facility #2965 Inf Sec (Delta Saboteur Team)?

Again, sorry for my stupid questions.

Oh quite all right, definitely not stupid questions. Its a complicated new feature.

A little bit of background
A Facility (aka a Land Unit) is made up of a number of mounts.
When working with a Facility, a mount represents a vehicle or a squad / section of infantry.
Cargo works on mounts, not facilities.

This video here shows how to load cargo into an airbase, then load the cargo onto a C-130, and then paradrop the cargo via the C-130.

Hay Baloogan

Are there parameters built in for para drops? Only certain types, altitude, speed etc?

Am messing around with it and its not working for me yet. Something silly on my part I'm sure.

There are no altitude/speed limits for paradrops yet, but there are Loadout limitations, and cargo limitations. You need a paradrop capable cargo item, and a paradrop capable loadout to perform a paradrop.

For example, you might notice the C-130 has a loadout for 90x Troops, and 64x Paratroopers. To perform a paradrop you need to choose the Paratrooper loadout.
